I'd try a Sony first party NFL game before 2K. There's no nostalgia for me. I'm in the extreme minority but the last 2K NFL game I liked was 2K3.

The excessive number of interceptions for both teams in the passing game, regardless of how low the sliders were, soured me for good on 2K5.

I thought 2K4 was good, with the exception of the unusual default control scheme, which they never used before or again.

Just on a whim, I wouldn't mind seeing Capcom do an NFL product.
