Plate Vis is directly related to strikeouts, while Plate Disc is directly related to walks.

A higher plate discipline will allow more ball calls for pitches on the black.

A higher vision will allow you to foul off more pitches.

In past versions you saw this in batting practice where discipline went up 2 on a taken ball and 4 on a close ball. Vision would go up on foul balls.
Thank you to all the men and women who serve in this great nations armed forces.

The discipline attribute influences the umpires decision making? Dont think so.

The higher a players discipline, the more he is able to check his swing without it being called a strike.

The higher a players vision, the more he will foul off pitcher's pitches, and the less he will swing and miss or put poorly hit balls in play

So let me confirm this - high discipline means umpires will not call strikes on check swings? Interesting.

yea, i think you gotta use your imagination a bit on this cause i'm not sure if the graphical replay will actually show the batter checking his swing better, but the call will lean in his favor probably.

I pretty much went through & lowered the plate discipline for hitters such as : Miguel Olivo, Juan Uribe, Corey Patterson...ya know, the hitters that never draw walks in real life & have some of the worst OBP. Olivo is like 1 of the worst all time at such.

When you do something like that, keep in mind that the ratings are the same scale for Majors to AA level. That means if you zeroed it out or something, you've made him worse at it than perennial minor leaguers....lol.

Each to their own though - just wanted to give you something else to consider.

I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned... The higher your plate vision is... The bigger your PCI is...
