Blocking field goals impossible?
I just finished up a game as Auburn against Georgia and they kicked a field goal on the last play of the game. The play clock was one second ahead of the game clock so I was able to jump the snap perfectly with my edge rusher. I make it to the kicker no problem; the player's entire body is between the football and the goal post. Then the ball and the kicker's leg are INSIDE of my player. Has anyone successfully blocked a field goal or has EA not only raised the OVR of kickers they have also given them jedi powers?

Re: Blocking field goals impossible?
I blocked an extra point, but that was me using my "Press y button and move both sticks down" cheat lol, EA thinks they fixed that glitch, but I still have my ways

Re: Blocking field goals impossible?
I have blocked 1 field goal and 1 extra point so far in about 10-15 games... both coming off the right edge with perfect timing on the snap. Finally, it IS possible!
Also: it makes a huge difference if you have a guy with a LOT of speed coming off the edgeComment

Re: Blocking field goals impossible?
Well, since it looks like a lot of people have blocked field goald then maybe my glitch was just an isolated incident. That or Auburn's cornerback is a superhero and can allow matter to pass through him.Comment

Re: Blocking field goals impossible?
IMO........it is still way too rare. This is college, you should be seeing way more blocked FGs and Punts.
IMO.........
They need a block punts & FG slider.Comment

Re: Blocking field goals impossible?
My first punt in my first game (UGA-me vs Florida) got blocked. I was near the goaline and out of habit I didn't do a max protect punt and of course a defender comes diving off the edge for the block.Comment

Re: Blocking field goals impossible?
Yeah, but punts should be able to get blocked ANYWHERE on the field, not just backed up into your own end zone.Comment

Re: Blocking field goals impossible?
It's not so much the lack of straight blocks, it is the lack of mishandled snaps. The long snap and holder position should matter and influence the quality of the snap and hold on punts and kicks.
Not only that, but kicker and punter awareness attributes should reflect the speed at which they get a kick off. High awareness kickers and punters will get the kick off quickly while others are more deliberate and more likely to get blocked.
Special teams as a whole needs a gigantic overall in NCAA, has for many years.Comment

Re: Blocking field goals impossible?
Yeah....awareness for kickers and punters don't even matter. A 40 awareness kicker or punter can kick just as good as somebody with 99 awareness.
Shouldn't be like that at all.Comment
