Paying collegiate athletes
So if they ever start paying collegiate athletes (as unlikely as it is) could we see an NCAA football game released with named rosters and everything? That'd be coo.Tags: None -
Re: Playing collegiate athletes
Yes if they started paying the players than we would see rosters with names. That is the only reason why NCAA games don't have the players names on it. -

USC is already breaking bread, yet I still see RB #26... I think it will still come down to the individual universities and EA would have to make licensing contracts on a per school basis.Comment

Re: Playing collegiate athletes
Actually I am.. the thing is, I choose academics over playing a game. The professionals already make way to much for playing a game. No need to bring that to college. Besides, these guys get so much handed to them in college. Like tutors that just do their homework for them and everything.Comment

Re: Paying collegiate athletes
How much actually revenue are colleges spending per student athlete. Versus how much revenue the schools are making off of its money sports. That's what I want to know. You looking at the Chair MAN!
Number may not tell the whole story ,but they never lie either.Comment

Still in HS... but no I'm not. I recognize that other scholarships and extra curricular activities help, but Duke (The college I would like) has tough academic standards, but yet I doubt they would turn down a 5* QB if one wanted to go there.Football: Denver Broncos

Re: Playing collegiate athletes
I'm just messing with ya… personally I think the money that professional athletes is ludicrous. With that being said, they are the best at what they do, and if they can find someone to pay them that much, then more power to them. Its all just a trickle down effect of the owners having so much money that the players can demand more from them. And the owners have so much money because they can charge $100 for tickets, and $7 for a hotdog, and $8 for a Miller… and I will still buy them.Comment

I think you're generalizing a bit here. While that may happen in some cases, it's certainly not even close to the majorityActually I am.. the thing is, I choose academics over playing a game. Re: Paying collegiate athletes
Athletes are already getting paid. But I suppose a rare amount of them value the cost of education, because hell, all they're going to do is go to the professional level anyways.
But while being a student who's not on a scholarship at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and hearing all these athletes complain about how they can't even buy a cheeseburger makes me want to go up to them and slap them in the face for their stupidity and selfishnessComment
