Anyone seen the Diving Catches??

i have yet to see 1 diving catch that was boasted about when they were unveiling features for ncaa 12. it seems every time there should be one, my wr doesnt even try to make a catch attempt. he just keeps blindly running as the ball sails right past him, sometimes literally all they have to do is just put their arms out. or if i can hurry up and switch and try to user catch, the wr does that thing where they keep running and just throw their arms up real quick. if anyone has seen these diving catches or has some vids id love to see/hear bout it. i hope this isnt something that was hyped but left out. i wouldnt even care if they caught it successfully, i just wanna see that they attempted to not let the ball just sail away when they could make a play on it.

What teams are you playing as? I would imagine the SPC rating has something to do with it. I've seen a couple of my guys lay out for the catch, but not a completed one yet.

Yeah, maybe 4 or 5 by now, and they've all been completed for touchdowns. Usually happens when my opponent has man pressed my receivers, and I'm rolling to the right avoiding pressure, hence the bad throw. Pretty cool.

I haven't seen any. I can't even get my receivers to dive when I hit Square. It is driving me insane.

I haven't. In fact as often as Scheelhause overthrows in my dynasty I would really appreciate some dive attempts.

Only seen 1- so far and it didn't look any different than NCAA 11. I vaguely remember reading that new catch animations were prominent in this years game.

I have seen the WR not react to a ball thrown at them though... many many times (2 a game or so). A couple times I've hit guys in the head/shoulder... they don't even react. I note that this usually happens when I hammer the button trying to get a little extra on the throw.

I know! That's what really bugs me. Receivers just don't try to get to passes nearly as hard as DBs do.

I only saw 1 diving catch in my time with the game. However, I was relieved that it didn't happen too often. I was so afraid when they first showcased diving catches that they were going to happen all the time. I really didn't want to see 5-6 spectacular diving catches a game.

I was surprised that I never saw a "stretch" catch though. Those ones where the receiver doesn't leave his feet, but has to stretch out to catch the ball and looses his balance immediately afterward. Now this is something that happens quite often in football.

I know! That's what really bugs me. Receivers just don't try to get to passes nearly as hard as DBs do.

I agree. I think that receivers are broken. They are so insanely passive while the safeties destroy them time and time again. I've hit guys in the head maybe five times where they don't even attempt to catch it. Not to mention the large amount of times that the defender jars the ball loose on contact.

But back on topic I hate getting behind the defender only for my qb to overthrow by about 3 yards with no dive attempts

yea i dont want it to happen all the time either and im more looking for the "stretch out" catches to happen more than anything. like u said they happen all the time IRL but i havent seen any new ones. the only one ive seen twice is the overhead one where u throw a deep ball on a streak and they stretch their arms out and then fall over on one foot and roll forward...but that is the same one that was in '11.

...these are the ones im talking about. never seen one of these. the only one ive seen is from ncaa11 that i just described in my last post. all of the examples in the vid are the ones that sail right past my wr's without even an attempt. im playing with a variation of teams in play now games
