    NCAA Football 13 Gameplay Wish List

    Will be stickied shortly. Post here what improvements to gameplay you would like to see.


    REMOVE JUMP THE SNAP
    Throwing animations need completely redone & should have selectable release styles
    Different playable camera angles
    Special teams should matter more (I want to block punts/kicks)
    Ball trajectory still needs some work

    Of the threads this most closely fits here, so I hope I am correct.

    Allow the user to organize the order in which the Custom Playbooks are set up.

    I cannot stand having to scroll over 5 formations to go from 4-3 to Nickel, when they should really be next to each other, is not seperated by only 1 or 2 formations.

    Even worse, I created a Power running-Triple Option hybrid offense. The problem is trying to switch between I-Form options and Flexbone Options and having to scroll over 5 different formations.

    Also, why is I-Form Close a seperate Major Formation. Should it not be grouped as a regular I-Form formation.

    Now, true gameplay wishes:
    -Reduce kick power. 50+ yard field goals should be reserved for the elite kickers.

    -Reduce kick accuracy. Again, accuracy needs to be lowered. If I played or watch every game on all-american I would wager every kicker to have a 90% percentage in the 40-49 range.

    - Tweak kicking logic. AI goes for way too many long field goals and does not seem to understand its kickers kick power. A formula that accounts for a kickers range, and accuracy to create a "safe" zone for the kicker would be nice. Oh don't forget to factor in game situation.

    -Cleats not iceskates! Please makes players look more like they are on grass and not ice.

    -Running animation. Please add in a running animation. The hunched over acceleration animation looks really ugly and is wrong.

    - More accurate running physics, like Madden 09. Changing direction should require a player to slow down and plant a foot somewhere, or else make the change more gradually.

    - Player weight and height and speed play more of a factor in tackling animations. The new stuff is great, but therre is still room for improvement and it still seems to favor the offense for no reason.

    - Better post-snap blocking AI. Too many times have I seen guys ignore the guy in front of him and go after some irrelevent player off to the side.

    - Pass interference. Plain and simple, this is still not in the game.

    -More aggressive catches. As it is, almost every catch animation is very passive. Mostly on plays that end up jump balls I see recievers just try to look the ball in and ignore the defender blocking the passing lane.

    -Swat ball on offense. Seriously, even the commentary says that at times the Reciever needs to act like a defender. This is huge.

    - Defensive holding, late hits. A player who goes out of bounds, not being able to touch the ball first without repositioning himself.

    - More transparency in ratings. Seriously, it is about time I have a guide to tell me what the heck these numbers mean.

    - Not all that gameplay related, but make ratings more like FIFA 11, where the best players are in the low 90's. (Will post as a dynasty request as well. It kinda fits both.)

      Speaking of FIFA 11, I was playing it earlier today. And the crowd is almost deafening when the home team scores a goal. I wish the sound was like that in NCAA.

        They should add a selection menu on the Throwing Motion..*Give us alot of options!!!

        **More emphasis on Special Teams!!!
        Add the Rugby punt to the special teams playbooks...

            They need to make the receiver play similar to madden once the ball is in the air.

              More emphasis on special teams. Ala Virginia Tech.

              Bigger roster sizes

              Spring games

              Change the depth charts or let us customize them. Some teams don't use a fb. Or many teams use fb/te hybrids. Don't just list WR and CB in order. Give WR different positions.
              SE, FL, Slot for WR
              RC and LC for CB
              Mike, Will, Sam for LB
              NT, DT, RE and LE for the DL

              More realistic penalty percentages

                  Agreed, special teams should matter more, but considering the sensitivity of something like special teams, EA tinkering with it might make it matter too much. Then it will be as if every kick you are just praying for it not to be blocked.

                  In terms of improvements, I think everything (presentation wise) in game needs to be worked on. There needs to be a ticker showing the results of other games going on at the same time, this is something that should have went in years ago.

                  Also like others have said, there needs to be a half time presentation, but not one of those generic ones, a legitimate presentation, or do not even bother putting it in.

                  The fans need to be improved, while they are a great start, it is obvious that I am staring at the same fans from last year and there are now just a couple signs slapped in their hands.

                  There needs to be more variety in pre game overlays to keep watching the pre game interesting. I am sure like me, you find yourself simming past that stuff after months of trying to enjoy the exact same entrace and stretch for each team.

                  Another thing that would do wonders, is anything some authenticity to each bowl game, so that when I win I actually feel like I won that particular bowl game and now just any other random one. In addition to this upon winning or even on the sideline, a couple of players can have their helmets off. It seems like they're glued to the heads right now. Nothing too crazy, but just here and there would be cool

                    First of all, psychic pass defenders need to be fixed. Nothing makes me want to throw the controller more than when a receiver has clearly beaten the defender and all of a sudden he makes a no look swat. this seems like a no brainer...

                    Second, increase fullback lead blocking and pulling lineman AI. I just love having a strafing linebacker tackle my back for a 2 yard gain when the fb or guard runs out and stops leaving the runner out to dry.

                    Third, when I double cover a receiver, unless he is AJ Green or Calvin Johnson he should not have a chance at catching the ball, given the dbs are somewhat decent. In double coverage one defender should stay high while the other trails the receiver.

                    Fourth, Punting is absolutely terrible. There is no way to determine how the ball will bounce. Answer, put in a ball rotation meter, similar to onside kicks. When you tilt the nose down the ball will has a better chance of bouncing backward. This will help players to pin the ball inside the 20, because as it sits it is pure luck if you get the ball inside the 10 and rarely ever happens unless you kick it out of bounds.

                    Fifth, receiver AI. Receivers need to be smart about running routes. In real life a receiver will not run his route into coverage, he will find the hole in the zone. It is incredibly annoying to see a receiver running a corner route at a high angle directly into a cover 2 safety when clearly he should flatten out the route and make his way to the sideline. This is also a big problem with hooks. Never should a receiver be standing in one spot unless he's open by 30 yards. The player should come back to the QB and find the hole in the zone.

                    These are some of my gripes, what do you think?

                      It's super annoying for me when a DB and a WR go into the same exact catching motion at the same exact time. Looks INCREDIBLY fake and stupid. Same goes with two players right next to each other doing the same celebration animation.

                      I wonder if there can be something written into the code where if two players are within 10 feet of each other they can't do the same animation.

                          You also need to tweak the CPU defensive play-calling AI, so that users won't be allowed to abuse money plays..... thanks.

                            -Special teams need to matter, how boring would watching a game be if every punt and kickoff had zero chance of being returned for a T.D.? Special teams are the most exciting plays in college football I think. A 2% chance to return a kick would be great and wouldn't break the game.
                            -Please bring back the camera shaking during critical moments during a road game at a top 25 stadium. That was an amazing feature.
                            -Chain gang...please
                            -Crowd interaction, while improved from last year could still use improvement.

                              Psychic playcalling needs to go away. It's so annoying and makes it easy to cheese the hell out of the CPU. All I do is line up in a shotgun play running slants. The CPU uses a three man front even though I've run the ball five times in a row. I switch to read option and get 5+ yards.

                              It's nice to beat the hell out of my opponents and all, but it's not as fun when it feels so artificial.

                              There's plenty of other things wrong with the game, but that one's been sticking out to me today.
