Receivers dropping passes after contact
Why does this happen 90% of the time? My #1 guy known for his hands drops these all the time on 3rd downs. This really pisses me off because its so unrealistic. Receivers get hit its not unreal to catch a pass and hold on while getting tackled EA WATCH A FOOTBALL GAME FOR ONCE!!!! This is ridiculous.Tags: None -
Re: Receivers dropping passes after contact
I noticed it too, turn User WR catch up with the slider until it's less or a problem and turn CPU WR catch down if you're noticing you can never knock the ball out on them. I did this and it made a world of difference, and i always try to avoid using sliders if at all possible. Why does this happen 90% of the time? Re: Receivers dropping passes after contact
I found it to be pretty realistic. Maybe a tad bit too many drops, but definatly way better than any other year. Why does this happen 90% of the time? I would rather see 25 drops a game than 0 or 1.Thanks to LBzrules: So these threads won't be forever lost.

Re: Receivers dropping passes after contact
I think i found the point of the problem actually. On some of the plays in which this happens there is a programming error and I don't know if this is it.
Anyways on some catches where there is a defender right next to your receiver watch what happens and sometimes the receiver will drop the ball to instead block the defender instead. He will catch it and hold it for half a second and then the ball will drop out as he goes into a blocking animation as if it was a screen or a run play.
It happens about half the time for me which means if they patched this little programming error the dropped passes wouldnt seem nearly as ridiculoushttp://www.youtube.com/user/Lumberjack33x

Re: Receivers dropping passes after contact
really? so u think 25 drops a game is more realistic than 1?
even tho the average number of drops per game in real life is probably around 3-5.

Re: Receivers dropping passes after contact
What is the impact player icon for then? My go 2 guy is an impact player and he drops these passes too often. No clutch factor at all in this game and it sickens me.Comment

Re: Receivers dropping passes after contact
^ I am assuming your talking about Griner? I am Arizona in my OD and he does drop a lot. I played South Carolina and they absolutely shut him down he prolly had 10 drops and could not get open. His stats are pretty good too.Comment

Re: Receivers dropping passes after contact
Don't lead your WR into a hit. The only slider I have not touched in my set is USER and CPU catching and I doubt I will. I am not seeing too many drops unless I lead a player into a big hit, which then they should more than likely drop it, but not always, and the game has reflected that nearly perfectly to me.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Re: Receivers dropping passes after contact
Like the guy above me said, most drops are due to contact, which is realistic. Guys with low catch ratings, wont hold onto a ball if they get hit.
As I said I would rather have 25 drops a game, than have somthing like last year, where no matter how hard you hit somebody they managed to hang on. If I am making bad reads, and have bad recievers then the stats should reflect that.
I do not know your recievers catch and catch in traffic rating but that is probably the root of your problem. He may be an impact player but he may be a spectacualr catch guy.
I'm not having that big of an issue. Maybe that is because WKU's QB couldn't hit a Nimitz Class Carrier if he was five yards away. Thanks to LBzrules: So these threads won't be forever lost.

Re: Receivers dropping passes after contact
but u see, the problem is that the DBS run the routes better than the wrs so there is always a hit right the ball touches the wrs hand. the only time this isnt the case is if ur wr gets open on a vertical route or if u get lucky and find some seperation on a slant or crossing route.Like the guy above me said, most drops are due to contact, which is realistic. i was averaging 8 drops a game before i turned the user catch up. sometimes the wrs dont even try to catch the damn ball, it just hits them on the shoulder. thats not realistic at all.Comment
