Re: NCAA Football 12 Roster Glitch Confirmed, Patch to Address Concerns
Doubt it. I cancelled my pre-order on Amazon because of this. It's the same company making it. It may not be as buggy, but if NCAA takes this much work to get it playing well, and then to have to wait for updates. yea... Not going to do it. Madden has improved but I heard it wasn't that great last year either so I'd much rather save my money. In the long run, NCAA will get better and it will probably be fine.Comment

I love this forum. It's so great to come to a place where people want so many of the same things as me and get as disappointed as me when EA screws up again.
Sure, we have the posters around here that act ad EA apologists or simply blame the consumer for buying the game (ridiculous) but most of the folks around here don't settle for this crap and do everything they can for their voices to be heard.
I'm right there with you guys. This is complete bull crap. EA should be paying us to be their game testers since the guys they actually pay to do the job are incapable of performing it.
I thought there was some law against monopolies. Why doesn't that apply in cases like this where one company has complete control and domination of an entire market (video game football fans)?Comment

Are you a consumer? Sick of being wronged by EA? Then file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau at this link.
I have filed my complaint as a 'Problem with Products/Service'. Electronic Arts misled me into believing I would be purchasing a product without several major technical errors. As I've now discovered the product to be seriously flawed and not as advertised, I am requesting a refund or credit.

Re: NCAA Football 12 Roster Glitch Confirmed, Patch to Address Concerns
Does competition inside their own company count with madden lol?...I'm jk and I totally see where you are coming from. Sometimes I do feel like a beta-tester and that's not right. At 60 dollars I buy the game knowing it's not going to be perfect, yet I don't expect there to be major flaws which are the result of a lack of oversight. If it's the case that their football engine is poorly developed, then I would never justify paying that kind of money, but with the gameplay I witnessed from the default roster the football engine works fine and there is potential. It's the inattention to the details which frustrate me because there's no reason this should make it through the development stage as a bug.I love this forum. Re: NCAA Football 12 Roster Glitch Confirmed, Patch to Address Concerns
I've been looking at this closer and it seems to me the problem is that the game is set to read certain attributes to determine a players tendancies.
But they somehow messed up what values its supposed to be checking for what. For instance the rosters were originally setup correctly but then maybe the bug came after. So when you change something on the player its rechecking attributes and going, oh this should a balanced QB not a scrambler, so it changes it when you edit any setting.
If that is the case this would be any easy fix to make sure the game is reading the correct attributes to make the tendancies. Of course once they fix this in a patch you would have to edit one thing on every player on your roster to get it to recheck the attributes again and assign the correct tendancies.
Oh yes and if what I just said above is the case that would mean recruits coming out of H.S. would also have the wrong tendancies set as the game would be most likely checking these same attribute catagories for the tendancies. Testing on this will have to be checked though. I would guess editing something on a new recruited player and saving it would show you if they change or stay the same.Last edited by SGMRock; 07-22-2011, 12:55 PM.Go Lions, Tigers, Pistons, Red Wings, Wolverines!Comment

Re: NCAA Football 12 Roster Glitch Confirmed, Patch to Address Concerns
if you go in the edit menu, it does calculate the tendency correctly. It says Denard Robinson is a scrambler based on his ratings. It is once you edit a facemask or something and then save and leave that the roster list has it flipped. It's calculating the tendencies perfectly fine in my eyes. It is being stored some where else incorrectly and that place is being used to influence in game response.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 12 Roster Glitch Confirmed, Patch to Address Concerns
I just thought of a work around for this, what if you create the team in teambuilder and import it into the game and use that, then you would not be changing anything in the game engine?
Anyone tried that? Though we would all have to buy EA's DLC to have a 100 some teambuilder teams to be able to use this :P
At least if you wanted though you could import your main teams or main conference teams with real names and tendancies and just let the other teams autoname.
Just a thoughtGo Lions, Tigers, Pistons, Red Wings, Wolverines!Comment

Ok that answers that then. Good info. So somewhere in their programing the attribute setting tendancies are not being converted over properly 1 for 1.Go Lions, Tigers, Pistons, Red Wings, Wolverines!Comment

While we are at it we need to do this against Microsoft for Windows Vista as well!! Give me a break!!Are you a consumer? Sick of being wronged by EA? Then file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau at this link.

Correct... I said this I guess a page back or so. But even if you edit his speed a point + its still messes up after saving.if you go in the edit menu, it does calculate the tendency correctly. Re: NCAA Football 12 Roster Glitch Confirmed, Patch to Address Concerns
It says a lot that in 74 pages over two days, members of this forum have managed to deduce the problem and put forth some pretty reasonable explanations as to why it is happening, how it affects the game and how it might be fixed.
Maybe if this kind of dialogue existed during development at EA, we wouldn't keep running into these ridiculous problems. It will never stop amazing me how quickly EA can take a working feature and make it not work over the course of the year. Of course like some of you mentioned, for all we know, it was broken last time.Comment
