And 1 point in speed won't change him from a scrambler, which means yea, there is some table that is not storing data correctly and that table is important. Sucks being a programmer and I can't fix it hahaha.

Re: NCAA Football 12 Roster Glitch Confirmed, Patch to Address Concerns
It's reasonable in the extent that we don't see the code. Honestly some games do release the game with known bugs, just because it's easier for the majority having the problem to pinpoint what's up than it is for one person or two people, it could've just been an isolated issue. Just be happy it's getting fixed. If this second patch can fix this, fix the graphical hiccups, introduce dynamic conference prestige and fix the deep coverage than this gamewould be insane. It says a lot that in 74 pages over two days, members of this forum have managed to deduce the problem and put forth some pretty reasonable explanations as to why it is happening, how it affects the game and how it might be fixed.
Maybe if this kind of dialogue existed during development at EA, we wouldn't keep running into these ridiculous problems. It will never stop amazing me how quickly EA can take a working feature and make it not work over the course of the year. Of course like some of you mentioned, for all we know, it was broken last time.
Not to mention EA really has no reason to be testing named rosters since they cannot use them in the final product. Or in any promotional videos.Bulls|Bears|Cubs| Blackhawks|Huskies|Horned Frogs|

Me too... its sounds like a simple fix... hopefully it is and then they can get it out quickly.
But if it just a table switch, then it would also mean that we would have to go into each player adjust something and then save and it would correct itself.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 12 Roster Glitch Confirmed, Patch to Address Concerns
Curious if linebacker and D-line player tendencies being switched to run stopper via the names is what has caused the CPU running game to take a nose dive. I'm sure this coupled with offensive run block lineman being switched to pass block made for the perfect storm.
With non named rosters the CPU mounts a fairly potent run attack, even on default AA.
Again, hoping you all can put together a list of what the changes are:

Re: NCAA Football 12 Roster Glitch Confirmed, Patch to Address Concerns
I was on the phone with the BBC this morning as our business is trying to get BBC accredited. For most businesses, complaints registered with the BBC would matter because it hurts the reputation of that company in the sense that those looking to do business them would be able to reference the complaints and trust would become an issue.
However, EA is far above the BBC. See for yourself. There were complaints filed on the 19th. Those complaints have been written off and closed. I assume those were complaints filed concerning NCAA 12 but we know those issues haven't been resolved and we all are completely dissatisfied. Furthermore, EA has failed to even acknowledge the issues exist. The only info we have is from a reliable source close to EA who says they are working on it. Yet, they still maintain an A+ rating on the BBC site.
Only two things will get the attention of this company: money or a law suit. We either quit buying the game, or someone with the resources sues them.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 12 Roster Glitch Confirmed, Patch to Address Concerns
I feel your pain, Phobia.Well this is flat out GARBAGE!!! Fight Night Champion releases with freezes and other freezing issues due to online gyms. Now NCAA 12 is released and it is the same thing, ANOTHER poorly tested EA product.
I don't think any of us can correctly convey the level of disappoint I have with EA on the testing of their products. QUIT RUSHING TITLES TO MAKE DEADLINES!!! PERIOD!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
So what is everyone's gameplan on how to handle the next month or more?
We are all kinda of in limbo with no word if we must delete our dynasties, delete our rosters, and just sit and twiddle our thumbs.
So we all paid 60 bucks for a game to play dynasty and progress our teams through coaching, recruiting, etc. But we are all stuck waiting!!!
Then to make matters worse, EA removed EA Sports World spots to upload and want us to now pay for the added spots which we once had. I am SICK of the nickle and dime while we have to deal with these kinda of issues. EA should take care of their customers and offer some kinda of THANK YOU for supporting us while we continue to screw up.
Man I am ranting now, but it is like a broken record with EA. So tired of paying money upfront to beta test a product for these companies because they are to cheap and in to much of a hurry to do correct testing on their own time and money.
I'm really upset right now. Thankfully, I hadn't started a Dynasty yet, but still this is a shame that something like this has slipped through the cracks. Block-O, Gatorbait and others literally stayed up for DAYS working on roster files for us and now we can't even use them? I am still donating to those guys because they deserve to be rewarded for the hard work they put in.
Hopefully, EA can isolate the problem, fix it and make it so guys like Block-O don't have to start over from scratch. EA owes those guys more than just a simple apology, imo, especially if it turns out the rosters have to be re-named after the patch.
I guess for now I'll just roll with the default rosters. Sorry, I just now found out about this thread ... if you generate names from the EA database, does that do anything to the game?Currently Playing:

Re: NCAA Football 12 Roster Glitch Confirmed, Patch to Address Concerns
Done. Here is what I wrote to the BBB.Are you a consumer? Sick of being wronged by EA? Then file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau at this link.
I have filed my complaint as a 'Problem with Products/Service'. Electronic Arts misled me into believing I would be purchasing a product without several major technical errors. As I've now discovered the product to be seriously flawed and not as advertised, I am requesting a refund or credit.
Want to make your voice heard? Then do it through the BBB. Otherwise, you'll be mostly ignored.
EA Sports has continually misrepresented themselves and their products. Year after year, they make promises that this year, they have completely fixed the problems that have always seemed to plague their games the last 5 years. They declare that the game is ready and will be better that ever. So with this information, I decided to purchase NCAA Football 12 from Amazon on July 12, 2011.
Since I have received the game, I have been stuck dealing with problem after problem, all things that EA promised would not be problems. First, they promised new lighting and better graphics. All the videos released prior to the release of the game showed a new and beautiful game unlike any other they had done before. Grass looked like real grass. Helmets glimmered in the sun and the lights from the stadium, uniforms got dirty and the field degraded throughout the game like never before. It looked great. The problem was the game didn't run like it needed to. So what does EA Sports do? Up until the release of the game, all their images and gameplay show all these new graphical achievements. But without informing the consumer of the problem, they release a patch degrading the graphics, making jerseys no longer get dirty like they did in the trailers, and they do this all after release day before word could get out that EA misrepresented themselves on the graphical achievements of the new game.
Next, the consumer was left to deal with numerous freezing issues. Many times just pressing start on the "Press Start" screen would cause the game to freeze and need to be restarted. In the middle of dynasties, the game freezes. In the middle of the actual football games, the game freezes. Heck, a person could simply be editing the roster, and the game freezes.
EA also promised new tendencies for their rosters so players would play more like their ratings. The only problem is the coding for the tendencies is reversed. If you create a scrambling QB with lots of speed, agility, and quickness, his tendencies get changed to a balanced QB and he no longer scrambles. The opposite occurs if you create a balanced QB with decent speed, agility, and quickness, but a better pocket passer than a scrambler; he suddenly becomes listed as a scrambler. The same happens to speed running backs who juke and evade defenders; they become balanced running backs who occasionally try to run straight through defenders because they are now listed as balanced runners. These issues occur at EVERY position in the game and cause the player to not play to the ratings you have given them. These issues can absolutely destroy gameplay as teams and players no longer play to their strengths. EA's response to this: "Delete your roster and play with the default roster." EA promised us the ability to edit our own roster and that it would work like never before. Once again, EA made promises, but their promises failed to deliver.
There is much more that could be listed about the failures of this game, but I simply do not have the time to continue with this. This game is broken, and there is no doubt in my mind EA should have pushed the release date back to fix some of these GLARING problems, inform the public that the graphics were not going to be as good as advertized due to framerate issues, and give the consumers the game they deserve. Instead, EA seems content to make us, the consumers, their personal game testers. They want us to find all the problems with their game, then make promises to patch these issues (when they should have released a working product to begin with) only to have other problems occur once they patch the problem.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 12 Roster Glitch Confirmed, Patch to Address Concerns
I'm hoping not, it will all depend on if those tables are part of the roster data. If it is... yea, those rosters are doomed. It all depends on how they coded it if it is a problem like that.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 12 Roster Glitch Confirmed, Patch to Address Concerns
From the sounds of it though, it isn't just named rosters, it is any edit made to any roster. Which is why you can't auto-generate and then change a guys helmet without seeing the problem. It's reasonable in the extent that we don't see the code. Honestly some games do release the game with known bugs, just because it's easier for the majority having the problem to pinpoint what's up than it is for one person or two people, it could've just been an isolated issue. I can understand issues with the game on the field, they can't play a million games with every team and run every play like we can. So I understand when we find something and they don't in that case.
But things like the post-patch graphics problems, the ridiculous glitches inside custom playbooks and now this are things that should not get past first test. We all noticed right away the difference between pre and post patch graphics, I don't believe for a second that these guys who spent months staring at this game didn't.
Custom playbooks were a huge new feature, but it is so buggy and disorganized that it makes it incredibly difficult to use (I still do).
For the rosters, when they went through the supposedly new roster editing system, it seems like this glitch would have come up. It isn't hard to have a wtf moment seeing a 59 speed QB with scrambler tendencies.
I know they are under pressure to get things out and as with any business, that leads to an inferior product, but some of these things are so basic. It is pretty troubling.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 12 Roster Glitch Confirmed, Patch to Address Concerns
Problem is just global far as positions go. All the ratings aren't matching up with the code. Last night, early this morning depending on you want to look at 3am.........I found the following:
Tendancy changed for different people at the same position by Altering one rating.
For some it was:
Strength
Speed
Agility
Elusiveness
Break Tackle
Truck
Acceleration
For example to fix DEs and DT, it was just a matter of lowering or raisng their agility.
For some QBs, it was just a matter of putting their truck rating at Zero.
But then you had half of the time where as you had to change multiple ratings to get their tendancy to change back to normal.
AND
Even when you did change it back, they still didn't play 100% to the way they played on EA's default roster.
Tested this out at 3am. On the named roster I fixed Nebraska and got Martinez back to scrambler. Played a game, he scrambled 5 times.
Loaded up EA's default roster, played the same 2 teams Martinez scrambled 17 times, with 8 times in the 1st quarter alone.
Also FYI
People need to stop confusing scramble with designed runs. Those are 2 different things.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 12 Roster Glitch Confirmed, Patch to Address Concerns
Does this glitch occur if we use the auto name feature when starting a dynasty?
This explains some of the weird game play issues I was seeing with my QBs. I was playing a dynasty and my pocket passer QB was running like crazy and my scrambler who I like to bring in for running situations like to sit in the pocket. I was so frustrated with those guys but now I know what happened.Comment
