Just in case this temporary fix has not been posted. If you still want the commentators to call players by name.

*After you have deleted your roster (s). Go to Michigan or a school where you know the players abilities (scrambler, pocket passer, pass rusher, etc).

*Then choose the option to "AUTO NAME" players. I know it won't be the players actual names, but for me it's better than no names; at least for me.

*Check the players and you will see that there abilities don't switch.

Size isn't really the issue on patches usually because code is usually changed by being re-written, not added onto. The issue though is that you don't want to see them fix all of the major bugs and then other ones pop up from the fixes they put in. Thus that's what makes programming such a difficult task and why I am not a programmer but rather a programmer college drop-out, LOL

I also decided not to pruse a career in programing However, I did do technical support for a software company and things do get broken when chaning code and most times it is not intentional. I have seen plenty times when something gets fixed and something else that worked before gets broken. having said all that, the fact the bug existed even before the patch means it was there to begin with.

Obviouslly it is a big deal and needs to be fixed but I for one am happy playing with numbers and not names but I can understand why others might not be.

That doesn't make sense from a technical perspective. Although at this point anything is possible.

Wha part of it doesn't make sense though? The more you play a game the more bugs you will find. Just because you've not had any freezes yet doesn't mean you won't in the future.

If there was a code issue causing the freeze it would indeed affect everyone probably all under the same conditions. Since there is no consistency at all it doesn't make a lot of sense. Leads me to believe there's some extra action on the back end causing it.

Its funny how some down play this issue like its no big deal...or "say wait it out for a damn path the more than likely open another door of problems. Some people will settle for anything...

Im so happy i stuck with my guns and rented this game..

My game never froze until today. I am trying to play the game, but it has froze four times in a row on me and I cannot play the game

EDIT: Make that five times. Nope, six times. Seven times now. Can't say I am very happy about this.

I've played quite a few games, and I've had one freeze up, while trying to load into a game.

It could very likely be a code issue, but a specific code issue. Or, an edited roster issue. And it could be an issue that doesn't show itself until specific criteria are met. Perhaps it's a specific school, and I never play that school. I'll never see it. Or perhaps it's a specific school when using a custom playbook.

I noticed that on edited rosters if you go to edit their ratings it still shows their original tendency e.g. Oregon's Darron Thomas is a scrambling QB and LaMichael James is a speed back. I played a game against Oregon on AA with and without edited rosters and didn't notice a difference in running style or tendency in the above players. I know people have experienced otherwise.

Either way it's not a dynasty killer for me.

Same here. I played two games tonight in my OD's. In my Washington St. OD my opponent was Oregon. Thomas scrambled for 3 first down (10 attempts 27 yards, sacked 5 times, long of 17). In my Wyoming OD I played against Nebraska and T Magic did a decent job scrambling as well (8 atts 21 yards, long of 16, sacked 4 times and also missed almost two quarters with an injury). If it weren't for sacks both QB's would have had around 40-45 yards. Of course, I'd like to see them run more but, even as balanced QB they still run way more than scrambling QB's did in NCAA 11 so, I can make due for now.

Also, count me in the camp that considers freezing the bigger issue. Freezing even if it's just 1 in every 10 games is more of a game-killer than this, IMO. Hopefully, both get rectified in a timely manner.

You know what company allows you to edit players several different player tendencies down to the single number??? Yep, 2k.

Not saying that they could make a better college football game, but it would be competition for EA.

Please don't come in here with an opinion you don't own the game, or at least not claim to.

I posted that from reading most of the post on this board...And by me renting the game I can wait it out with out that "65 dollars worth of game just laying around til a patch" feeling...and we all know patches have to go through MS or PSN before they become live and that **** take awhile..."RENTING or WAITING" seems to be the best thing to do for these games now days

Sorry your game didnt come out the way you wanted it to...

Maybe It will have that WOW factor to it after the patch your waiting on..I wish you the best of luck with that sir/ma'am

I was hoping that you could auto name, then rename without affecting the tendency. Nope, for those wondering.

Also, Gators game froze this morning while trying to enter a RTG game. IT froze while checking for Season Showdown updates and then wouldnt let him exit out of the "message of the day" which was to watch episode 2 of the making of NCAA Football.

Thats disgusting that you are forced to deal with SS while being signed online. And the message of the day is super annoying. Littering your game with advertisements after you PAID for the game. I couldnt understand if the game was free.

Any more news from EA on this roster glitch issue though??

Well the exclusive contract is up, so there is a possibilty. But, not sure of market.
Even though NBA ELite didnt come out it did effect NBA2k. NBA 2k this year will have Physics. No matter how good the competition, you have to be able to compete at all aspects of the game

I've had the game freeze twice, and both times this was the exact reason for it.

Just when I was starting to enjoy Road to Glory I found the game breaking glitch in that mode too.

I was down 17-10 on one last drive to try at tie it up. First down I threw a 5 yard pass, 2nd down they took me out of the game and PUNTED!!!!!!!

My team punted on 2nd down while trying a game tieing drive.

embarrassing, how does EA break things that don't even need to be changed? someone hire a real dev manager (aka me) to make sure these monkeys don't f things up
