QUESTION: are you guys finding user hitting too easy and the need to bump the cpu pitch success higher??? I haven't personally had that happen, but wanted to know what you guys were seeing. Appreciate the kind words!
Nope, I wish, actually the cpu seems to get alot of hits on me, even though I try to work zone, though about dropping their contact by 5 to see if it helps.

work the count...patience, patience, patience. play like real baseball, don't go up hacking. make the pitcher pitch a LOT of pitches. wait for him to groove you one...he will. I hit a HR with Altuve the other night... 53 HR power. It can be done.

I personally have found it getting quite easier. However, that may just be me getting better at the game though. Any suggestions?

EDIT: Just realized you already answered my question a couple pages back. Sorry didn't notice. Thanks.

I bumped AI Pitching Success to 70, left HUM contact at 35 but increased HUM Power to 60. Liking the results so far. SD 5-hit me last night, but Berkman still hit a bomb, and got doubles from Freese and Holliday. Got struck out 5 times and drew 3 walks from Stauffer. I grounded out a bit, which I'm good with. I like the Success at 70 so far.

Hey harsh, I made the follwoing changes for a month of my franchise and I was very well surprised by what I got. Two simple AI changes:

              AI pitch success - 75
AI pitch break influence - 100

Really makes a hitter out of you especially if your a fan of the pitcher/batter battles. Now if only check swing worked

The ball's not acting like a wiffle ball, is it? That would be my only apprehension about trying that out, too much unrealistic movement. 12-6 curves are already beeyotches to hit.

No not at all, on contrary the ball comes at you way more realsitic. Now there is nothing I can do about the over done movement of some pitches. IE the sinker, split change, ect...What it does do is give pitches more "bite" to them like they would if YOU were in the box which I like. I still wish 2k would redo the curveball effects. It needs to have more "fall off the table" feel to it. I know on the show, curveballs were my kryptonite because the literally buckled me...This at least has the same effect for me and it forces you to be a better hitter as pitches make contact with the bat differently and more realisitc. Just try it and if no bueno for you then revert.

Are you also leaving user batting contact at 35 and user batting power at 50??

I'm only asking because, by raising ai pitch success, I'm not sure how you could hit any HR's... I really believe that cpu pitch success is the entire key to user batting.

                    Thanks for the feedback.

(I have a busy week ahead of me - have commitments every night this week so I will continue to keep my rosters updated late each night but won't get much playing time in).

I tried a game with AI pitch success at 75 and 100 on pitch break influence. It is crazy hard! I was the Yankess and I was playing the A's and they had Gonzalez on the mound. I lost 5-1. It felt totally realisitc in terms of the pitcher/batter duel. I'm just not very good at the game yet (I've only been playing for a short time). I struck out like 13 times in the game I think (Gonzalez has a nasty 12-6 curve that I could never figure out). I only had 4 hits. Towards the end I was finally getting in a little groove and was figuring some things out. I'm excited about the AI pitch settings you got. However; I never came close to going yard with anybody. mkharsh was asking about home runs with the AI pitch success raised. How was your success with it? Were you still able to hit homers and hit for power at all? Like I said I've only played 1 game with these at 75 and 100 so I don't have a good idea yet. Just wondering if I need to drop it below 75 and go closer to mkharsh's 60 or keep it with what you have? Go Ducks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really enjoy these sliders. As a former collegiate pitcher I think that break influence should be high, mine are at 100. Otherwise, everything seems flat to me. Having pitched against many professional players........if I left it hanging/fat/flat/middle/belt[need I go on]......................GONE!

I like high break, looks better to me, even though STL Carpenter's 12-6 whipped my ***. But, if its good, ITS GOOD!

Yea I have the contact at 35 and the power at 55 for human and that does me well. I have the AI strike zone at 40 so I watch the pitches as the AI will walk me every now and then. Its the bat to ball that you will see and it also changes the way you approach the plate. I mean I hit a nice barely over the wall shot with bernadina the other game and it felt "right"

Well the advice I have is for both sides of the ball, not just hitting. Patience, patience, patience.........Got to work counts, dont always swing at first pitch, even if it might be a strike. Just like real ball, timing is important. When I have a bad game, it is me being impatient and it shows in score line, and opposing pitchers pitch count. If you try working counts, and get the opposing pitcher higher pitch counts, you will be more successful. Also try user Contact at 40 instead of 35, maybe will help a bit. Mk's rosters and sliders together are freaking awesome!!!

I gotta tell ya, I'm very pleasantly surprised after my first game with your modifications. My only complaint is that I struck the CPU out a bit much. I JUST threw a 1 hit complete game with Jake Westbrook (playing with the Cards) against the Pirates. I struck out 11, walked 3 (one of which McCutchen chased home with a bomb). Oh, AND it took 122 pitches to do it. I was struggling on them last 2 batters, that meter was ridiculous! I'd say 3 or 4 of the Ks were of the 'caught looking' variety, so that's a good thing.

Offensively, it felt really good. I won the game 6-2. I had 8 hits; 3 homers (Pujols, Holliday and Berkman) and 2 doubles (Freese, Holliday). Charlie Morton and Garrett Olson combined for 5 Ks and 3 walks. I also scaled back the OF and IF speed to 35 and 30, respectively. I'm liking that, too. I need a few more games to see if Westbrook's marvelous game was a fluke or not. But it's not as unrealistic as I was afraid it might be. Because of the movement of the pitches, it's pretty tough to throw strikes consistently...I have PIT Control at 25.
