which team should my little brother root for and why ?

My little brother used to root for certain players but now he wants to root for a team. I am trying to make him a cowboy fan but won't do it because I like them. Any ideas who he should root for ? He dose not want to root for his home town team the seahawks or the local team the vikings.

This. Depending how old he is tho can have an effect I'd suppose, if he's young he may be more drawn to high scoring teams like the Saints,Packers,etc.

Who do you guys root for in college football? Most NC State fans are now Chargers fans because of Philip Rivers. Pick your favorite college player, and whatever team he lands on, there is a good chance you will like that team.

Well being English and not having any hometown, college, etc etc affilliatuion of course i picked a different route.

I really got into football about 4 years ago and wanted a team that was almost "starting from scratch."

So looking at this year. Ask him to pick one with a Rookie QB that is likley to play and then he can follow progression of team from day 1.

If not minnesota how about Titans or Jacksonville? (hes not allowed Carolina of course )

Such a weird dilemma. I wasn't aware people actively choose their favorite team. I just came into liking the Giants because they wore blue uniforms (I was 4) and I liked them more later because they were a rival of my hometown team, the Eagles, and I like to be contrarian cause it always makes sports more interesting. I never did actively decide on a team.

Since you said the local team in the Vikings and he doesn't like them, maybe he'd like the Packers, Bears, or Lions, to have that same contrarian thing going on? It makes talking sports more interesting when you root for the rival of the local team.

He'd never get to feel the unbridled joy of a team he's rooted for for years and years finally reaching the top of the mountain.

Being a neutral fan would defeat the purpose of watching sports.

This "which team should I root for?" thread is lame. The guy who wrote every NFL team asking them why he should be fan of theirs was awesome. Maybe you should have your brother write every team in the league? Or you can just let him watch football and figure it out himself (but that would be too simple).

You're right, he didn't say that anywhere. I apologize, I had him confused with someone who said he was overseas in a different thread.

Either way, I don't see why you would call this a lame thread. I wouldn't choose a favorite team this way but I don't see how someone asking the question to others is lame.

I don't think it's fair either, if someone wants input as to teams to root for then so be it. It isn't hurting you or I.
