No more blue on The Blue - No blue unis for BSU at home in MWC

As a Boise State fan, I feel very strongly about this news:

I haven't started this thread to gather opinions on whether or not OS members feel that this is a legit move by the Mountain West or something utterly ridiculous. I'm wanting to know if in your dynasties you'll be changing BSU's home colors from the traditional blue unis if you'll be playing against them.

Since this rule only applies to home Mountain West games for BSU, and if your dynasty team has BSU in their conference, will you be changing BSU's unis? Or if you are playing as the Broncos at home against another MWC opponent, will you voluntarily change the unis as well?

I will most definetly not be changing the uniforms for my MWC home game. What are everyone else's thoughts?

There's a thread on this in the college football section... I can see why this was done, but I still think it's a bad move.

Ah, sorry I missed that thread! I guess I'm interested in how people will approach this in their NCAA 12 dynasties or exhibitions games they play and not necessarily about the right or wrong of the whole thing.

Sorry for the repost and mod, please close if needed.

This is interesting to theorize on, but has a player ever come out and said "yeah it was hard to see them" after a game? I could see maybe it being more difficult on any coaches in the press box who have a more bird's eye view or watching film of them.

All in all I don't think it's such a bad move if there is some actual evidence that it's giving them an unfair advantage. The problem is I haven't heard any statements from actual coaches/players saying that. But maybe they have.

As for my dynasty. Nah I won't change it. Too lazy lol.

            Spoiler

I'm just going to make Boise wear white during conference games if I decide to get a dynasty going with them.

I am not Boise fan, but this saddens me. It is another tradition in football being striped away because of complaints from other teams. In Cincy, we had this happen too. You used to be able to go down on the field after a home game. Kids would bring balls and have a chance to pretend to play on a real college field. You would be able to go down and shake hands with any players who decided to remain outside. It had been a tradition here for decades. Nippert is one of the oldest college football stadiums in the country and this was a neat tradition. In the long history of UC football it was never an issue as UC fans tend to be some of the most laid back fans I have ever seen. That was until we beat Rutgers and knocked them out of contention for a national ranking. The next year after the game their punk arse coach launched a campaign to make UC change their policy. The BE made them change it because punk arse felt "threatened". We have one of the oldest programs in college football and no team has ever felt threatened. They didn't feel threatened before we beat them costing them their highest ranking ever. It is sad for the kids who will never get to experience that tradition.

With that being said, I will still let Boise wear blue... its stupid not to.

Even as a fan Nevada I 100% disagree. The Blue uni's don't give Boise an advantage. Just a bunch of ridiculousness. I feel bad because I actually like the blue with orange stripe

So are green teams no longer allowed to wear green on green? This is a silly rule IMO that just smacks of envy by lesser teams..

They can't wear blue uniforms but Army is allowed to have CAMO? That makes no sense.

Are you serious? If they were playing in a desert, maybe Army would have a slight advantage with the camo uniforms.

                        BAHAHA

                        Oh man, that was good.

But anyway, I think this was a smart move. It's not like it's a big deal either, and I do think they made the change because it was affecting the game. But another part of me wants to say, Homefield advantage? But also in theory, no FBS team is allowed to change the field color to anything else but green now anyway, resulting in it being unfair. So I would have to say, yes, I am glad with the change. If I were to play Boise State on the Blue Turf, I would probably change it too the Blue/Orange combo.

complain all you want but you (Boise) signed off on it so they knew coming into it.

But anyways, I'll probably switch to all Orange or Blue tops with White pants

I hope Boise State runs up the %#@$ score at home against its conference opponents. The MWC should feel lucky for having a powerhouse like BSU after TCU jumped ship for greener pastures. Putting these meaningless stupid conditions on Boise shows what a mickey mouse conference this is. Shame the couldn't have gotten in the Pac 12 where they belong.

To the Cincy fan... I'm not sure when that policy got changed... but there were some sweeping nationwide policy changes involving fans on the field and it had more to do with rushing crowds at terrible programs like Kentucky and Colorado who had been rushing the field every time their team won a game.

And as far as on topic?

Not only is the Smurf Turf ridiculous, but I'm not a fan of teams that wear the same color pants, tops, and helmets. The only thing this rule says is that Boise can't wear blue pants AND blue jerseys on the blue turf. They can keep the blue tops or the blue bottoms.

Basically, MWC is forcing Boise to adopt some fashion sense.
