Let me preface by saying this: I've been playing college football video games since the days of Bill Walsh on SEGA... and Tecmo before that.. and 10 Yard Fight before that... and I've never seen a game end like this.

Apparently the guy accidentally pressed lateral as soon as he came up with the almost-game-winning pick. Whether it was the right bumper or a custom button, I don't know. Maybe he meant to speed burst for the pick-6 and he accidentally hit the bumper. I felt bad for the guy, BUT I had lost 4 fumbles during the game and he'd lost 0. So I guess it was poetic justice...
