    1-5-5 and 2-4-5 defense awesome?

I was wondering if someone else would check the 1-5-5, 1-5-5 prowl and 2-4-5 defenses for me as I seem to be able to get a sack on every play with them. Is it just me or a game cheat? I played against (granted this is in my third year dynasty) Wyoming a C+ team and had 12.5 sacks. I thought huh, maybe my defense is just awesome and Wyoming can't handle the rush. I tried again against Iowa a B+ team and had 10 sacks. I'm playing as FSU and my defense is rated B+. Someone else try and it and see if they have the same luck as me. I haven't tried it online yet though mostly because I hate the new online play.

I've had really good success with the 1-5-5 in 3rd and long situations which is really the only scenario I've felt comfortable with it. It may work but I just don't trust 1 down lineman in any other situation.

I've used the 4-3 for as long as I've been playing NCAA (about 10 years) but haven't had much success with it this year which is why I switched to the 3-3-5 so far this year.

I mean technically it is cheese to use on any play other than 3 and long

I played someone online who only used the 1-1-5 and I thought it was kind of gay.

then he should've been penalized for only having 7 men on the field

there is no rule that says having less than 11 on the field is a penalty.

2-4-5? I haven't even seen that one. 1-5-5 was pretty nice though. Don't think it got me a sack every time but it shutdown the plays I used it for.

4-2-5 is broken I think. I mean it would be my base defense if not that if you blitz with man coverage... you will have your Right Linebacker covering the slot receiver on the other side of the field.. granted, it may be what its called for... but when your linebacker doesn't go over and be on top of him even when you have press coverage on.. allowing for a quick hit to that receiver and a touchdown, then I am pretty sure it is broken.

Yeah it's in the 3-3-5 base and go to nickel i think it is wherever the 1-5-5 is and it is the second one down. It takes out the DT and only has the 2 DEs in a three point stance.

Yeah that's the worst. Especially when you try to run across the field before the play starts, the CPU snaps it right before you get there there, then the receiver runs a slant to the side of the field that you were originally on. Instant first down. Probably a touchdown.

These defenses make me HATE zone blocking. They double team instead of getting up field.

Yea I got tired of players not getting to the second level so I turned the blocking sliders up. The downside though is that now there are twice as many pancakes.

I wish there was a blocking power slider so I could have smarter blockers without turning all of them into the incredible hulk.

both defense are so easy to beat its not even funny, the 1-5-5 you just send more than 1 reciver on a streak and chuck away they cant keep up because they are too close to the line especially to the outside...the 4-2-5 you can beat down the seams all day long.

That is good to know, so it can be beaten. I mostly only play against the CPU so it obviously doesn't have the ingenuity of you, so thanks for letting me before I get torched in a game against my buddies.

On a sidenote, the vertical seam with a slot or number 4 reciever will generally beat any defense. I can run a 4 vert out of just about any formation and hit either the TE or 4 reciever all day long once he gets just past the linebacker, unless they are doing the steroid jump in which case every now and again I throw to early and they swat it down like the hulk.
