Haha! yea I had to do it.. CPU was having a tough time running on me with there runblocking at 55 but I did give up 2 100 yard rushers with it at 55 but besides that it was nothing from them. 60 should be money. Even though I was able to handle the runblocking on 100 with my tackling at 55 It was just too many pancake blocks where the whole Dlineman got put on there back. I wanted my DTs to get into the action.. But 60 should be good with the my tackling at 50. It should at least help them grind out some drives..

I've had streaks like that too....but in a 32 team chise where i'm playing every game. I would win 5-6 in a row and start to feel like I need to boost the cpu...then all of a sudden he'd get unbeatable, and I'd lose 4-5 in a row...it's really weird and streaky and mind you I'm playing as a different team each game....maybe some DPP happening and your guys are on a cold streak? Unfortunately that's what I expect will happen in M12...that DPP will cause inexplicable streaks for teams.Okay I think I'm officially done with Madden 11.
I don't know what it is, suddenly, from one moment to the other, nothing's working anymore.
I was cruising, it was close to boring, starting out 6-0 again with a 94 overall team, haven't lost a game in two and a half seasons now, I was crushing my opposition and my feature HB was on his way to a 2k season.
Now I'm 6-4 and I'm at a complete loss. Nothing's working. There are no key injuries save for my #1 CB but my depth in the secondary is so ridiculous that I actually got 5 CBs that could start on any team in the league, so no problem there.
The offense gets nothing done. My HB has a YPC of 2.1 for the last 4 games (was 6.5 for the season before that), my QB, who was 9-1 on TD/INT before that has thrown no less than 15 picks in those 4 games, I've had 6 lost fumbles to boot, in one game my QB went 4/28 and 6 picks. My return guy muffed three punts in one game, I could go on forever. I guess we've all had games like that, but four in a row?
I don't feel I'm making mistakes. I call the same plays as I did before, I make the same throws against the same teams. I didn't change the sliders. But suddenly, not only can't I complete throws anymore (28% completion rating in 4 games, was close to 70% before that), I'm tossing picks left and right again, I feel like I'm right back to playing with John Skelton under center, only that my QB's a 92 overall and throwing to 90+ overall receivers. I can't scramble anymore, either, suddenly even 70 speed DEs somehow manage to sack my 92 speed QB who's scrambling straight away from them. CPU cheating is getting overboard, shovel pass interceptions, I've had a 62 overall backup QB scoring 200 yards and 3 TDs in one half on me, the whole package.
I'm at a loss to explain any of this, and somehow, by now I don't even feel the motivation to change anything about it. So I guess I'll get away from this game for now and wait for NCAA and Madden 12 to see whether all those improvements actually improve the game. Just to let you know I won't be actively working on the sliders for the moment."I'd rather lose to the cpu with realistic stats than win with ridiculous stats."

I have had similar experience, not quite as extreme as what you are experiencing right now but similar none the less.Okay I think I'm officially done with Madden 11.

I am currently midway through my 12th season with the same team in M11 [Bronco's]. Along the way I have noticed certain programing tendancies that affect gameplay that I am sure yourself as well as everyone else contributing to this discussion have noticed as well.
As for your current gameplay issue I don't think it's your sliders.
I have noticed the cpu has a tendancy to adjust gameplay at some point during the season in order to maintain EA's idea of realistic player stats. The severity of this I believe is related to your teams overall rating, wins/losses and your QB rating at the time.
The worst case of what you describe happened to me when my team was ranked 93. That season Jay Cutler [I know he's a punk, but thats another topic] was NFL MVP and broke every single season QB record so....relax dude, I believe your QB is about to beast up and your on your way to another superbowl title.
Another thing I have found is no need to have more than 2 stud #1 and #2 corners, too expensive!!! mediocre 3 and 4 CB will do. Use defensive assignments for #1 and #2 CB. Also if you have, or can get an older A rated CB who has lost his speed, move em to FS or even SS, Kelvin Hayden has turned into Troy Palamaulo for me and works cheap. Have done the same for other teams in cap trouble [control all 32] and works like a charm. Spending 50mil a year on DB's will not guaranty success against cpu QB's using sliders that we use. Got to get creative with linebackers and safeties is what I have found.
Nothing can be done about robo QB, mostly happens to me when I am up by 2 or more possesions. Sometimes robo QB happens from get go, when this happens I either take my lumps like a man..... or sim the rest of the game, play by play. Simming results in more realistic stats, you won't get owned for 540yds and 6 TD's. But, be prepared for an injury to 1 or more of your key players!
My observations of Madden 11 after 11.5 seasons, control all 32 teams, play almost all games with one team, sliders pretty close to Jarodd's, no slider adjustments since season 4, coaching philosophies etc..... customized based on coaching/personel changes I have made to various teams along the way.I've had streaks like that too....but in a 32 team chise where i'm playing every game. In no particular order:
As we all know, these sliders are tough, you have to bring it every game or the cpu will shred you. I like this
ROBO QB EXISTS. It sucks and I have found that nothing can be done to stop it.
I don't think its' possible to lose a Superbowl, this gen, last gen, never lost one. Won 4 so far in M11, all runaway wins except last one against Vikings. 12 to 9, only TD was a pick 6, truly a defensive struggle which happen far to little for me. Had tough playoff games but 3 out of 4 runaway superbowl wins is almost unacceptible.
Major injuries to key players are rare for human controlled teams. Have cranked injuries all the way up to 100, wrecks cpu teams but no affect on mine. Put it back to 52.
I would venture a guess that we all have a top rated offense by at least season 3 and overall defense usually ranked near the bottom of the league even if we lead the league in sacks and picks. I believe the sack and pick tendancy is hardwired into the game to satisfy the casual gamer. Being good at defense is hard in madden, sacks and picks are exciting and get the ball back to the human player, resulting in human player controlling the ball excessively. Great for the casual gamer but sucks for us, slider adjustments help make time of possesion reasonable but still favors human player far to much.
Strangely, counter to what I mentioned above, I have had top 10 pass defense 3 different seasons, no particular order and am in one now???
As mentioned above my current D is ranked #3 against the pass. I have noticed that cpu teams are averaging 150 yds passing against me after 13 games. Some games I have held cpu to 100yds, some have been 350yds. Comparing this season to previous seasons I have come to the conclusion that there is some kind of stat balancing programmed into franchise mode. The severity of this balancing I believe depends on different factors as I mentioned to Delta above, but it is definately there.
I am well into my 12th season and I am curious if anyone else has experianced this? It seems that the cpu has adjusted to my offensive scheme. Been using Steelers playbooks for last 11 of 12 seasons and I have had tough games but more and more in the last 3 seasons, especially this season. Went through an 8 game stretch and won them all, but never by more than a TD. Has not been cpu cheese either, cpu teams are truly aware of my hot routes, money plays and key players, while still somewhat effective I have had to become far more creative this season. If there truly is cpu adaptibility programed into franchise mode thats great. My only suggestion would be to make it kick in after 1 or 2 seasons, not 11.
I have to agree with MJ on DPP. I have definately noticed hot and cold streaks by players on both sides of the ball and have had to make adjustments accordingly. Noticed this in Madden 10 as well but don't recall anything like this in any PS2 versions.
I think what we will see in M12 is the complete version of DPP and quite possibly have a more profound effect on gameplay.
We have to keep in mind that Madden devs are contractually obligated to produce a game every year so maybe????.... instead of anouncing DPP as the new thing back in M10 they have taken 3 years to perfect it. I for one am optimistic that DPP will be a game changer this year
I am sure we can all agree that much improvement in gameplay and AI logic is needed but I feel that there have been improvements to various aspects of the game. I too have seen many frustrating and unrealistic aspects of the game and have a drawer full of controller parts to prove it but overall, with slider adjustments etc I am still having fun with it and feel optimistic that better days are ahead for the Madden community.Comment

Re: Jarodd21 Madden 11 Custom sliders.. Good competition from CPU..
i was thinking bout what you said about cpu run block back at 100 but now that i think about it i run a 3-4 so my lineman barely get tackles as it plus i have a feeling that raising the tackles or raising the blockshed no higher than 10 (just to conbat the consistant long runs) its like you said as long as its under 75....cuz there is a reason you had it at 100 to begin withComment

Hey Jarodd21, just wanted to say that I've been using your sliders for 7 seasons now and that they've been working pretty good. I did have a robo QB sighting last night against the Ravens and boy did they whoop me! QB was completing sideline passes, going deep in double cov and just tearin me a new one. All this in the AFCCG. Can't win em all though. Just wanted to say good job on the work you've put in on the sliders.Comment

Re: Jarodd21 Madden 11 Custom sliders.. Good competition from CPU..
Haha! I hate that especially when I have the CPUs pass game shut down for most of the game and they explode on the last 2 drives for about 150 yards and ruining my pass defense stats.. But thanks man and which slider set are you using??Hey Jarodd21, just wanted to say that I've been using your sliders for 7 seasons now and that they've been working pretty good. Re: Jarodd21 Madden 11 Custom sliders.. Good competition from CPU..
allright man, I tried your sliders way back and had to go a different way because they were too difficult. I rolled with another set from OS and while the played good at first, I ripped off 11 wins in a row on my way to a Super Bowl victory. the games were all good games but playing with the Broncos well, their not good...
just putting this out there and would appreciate your input:
cpu Qb acc is at 100, is there a difference between P. Manning and D. Anderson?
cpu brk tkl is at 100, is there a difference between A. Petersen and C. Taylor?
cpu wr cth is at 100, is there a difference between R. Wayne and B. Stokley or do they have the same one handed catch ability?
all the human sliders look good. thinking of toning cpu down in these areas to avoid every cpu skill position playing like gamebreakers. what do you think?
thanks for the sliders...Comment

You definitely see a difference with the RBs. With he breaktackles on 100 it just brings out the ability in runners. USER tackling slider has a big effect on stopping the run. You'll still stuff bum RBs if you play good run defense especially if your good as a USER.
I currently have the CPUs catching at 70 now.. Its a better spot and DBs cover the WRs a lot better with it right there..
Let me know how they go for you and if you need to tweak anything I'll help you adjust them just let me know the area's your having trouble in..Comment

Re: Jarodd21 Madden 11 Custom sliders.. Good competition from CPU..
Just wanted to give some input myself...
QB: Yes, there is some difference, but honestly, in my experience, not too much. You will have games where you completely shut down Manning, and you can have games where Anderson marches all over you. Especially when Robo QB kicks in, CPU QB ratings don't matter at all. The rest of the time, they do matter, but not as much as they should.cpu Qb acc is at 100, is there a difference between P. Manning and D. Anderson?
cpu brk tkl is at 100, is there a difference between A. Petersen and C. Taylor?
cpu wr cth is at 100, is there a difference between R. Wayne and B. Stokley or do they have the same one handed catch ability?
RB: Definitely. A great RB might break one or two tackles on almost every rushing attempt (unrealistic, but honestly the only way the CPU can get any kind of running game going) while a bad one will get tackled in the backfield much more often. Of course, even the bad backup RB will break more tackles than you would think, but still a lot less than AP.
WR: Yes, there is a difference. A WR with worse ratings will still often fail to catch when he's in tight coverage, and drop the ball when being tackled by someone with high hit power. Especially concerning your question, the one handed catch ability is handled by the Spectacular Catch ability, and only WRs with a high SPC can even activate the animations, so even with CPU WR Catch 100, a mediocre receiver won't be able to make those kind of catches. You gotta have Hope! After an incredible 2012 season ends with a Super Bowl win, Hope Turner and her Vikings are trying to prove that their performance was more than just a one-shot.Comment

Re: Jarodd21 Madden 11 Custom sliders.. Good competition from CPU..
I can't even fathom how AWFUL these sliders were. It was like giving the USER a huge handicap and yet it was still easy to just dominate. One word, OFFENSE. These are my stats below. I just did random teams play now Broncos (me) vs Texans.
QB: Kyle Orton - 13-47, 522 yards, 8 TD, 2 INT
Matt Schaub - 33-37, 418 yards, 4 TD, 0 INT
So already you can see the deep pass is WAY too easy, but I was ALWAYS pressured and almost sacked within the first second or two. No blocking what-so-ever. And I usually have shutdown D with passing. This was not robo QB, it was just what a QB does when he has 100 CPU pass accuracy.
RB: Knowshon Moreno - 32 rushes, 24 yards, 1 TD
Correll Buckhalter - 8 rushes, 12 yards, 0 TD
Arian Foster - 39 rushes, 331 yards, 2 TD
Now you can see that NO BLOCKING WHATSOEVER was the death of me. In every tournament I've ever been in, including back-to-back-to-back wins at the local Gamestop, I can ALWAYS run the ball. By the time I had the ball, there was at least 3 goons in my face. On the other side, any good HB can break EVERY TACKLE. I do NOT use hit stick, yet he just barreled through every defender I had. NOT OKAY. I did make a large amount of goal line stops though.
WR: Just look at QB stats, and Andre Johnson caught all but one of their TDs. He is a monster.
Other key stats
FGs for me : 3
FGs for other team : 7
Kick Return TDs ( I do not use KR Middle or Center or whatever it's called) : 3
Other Team - 0
I ended up winning by a lot, 93-63. I feel that I am both too good for them, and that they don't improve the AI at all, they just boost all the other teams stats and abilities. Key stat, 40, the number of tackles Arian Foster broke free of. I would not recommend this slide unless you like shootouts against super teams who can't drop a pass, be tackled, or make a poor read.

From the looks of the score you need to sliders to be jacked like that to get some competition from the CPU. It just seems like you need some better defensive schemes. Also for some reason Houstons offense is hard to stop. Schaub always shreds me. I don't know what to tell you about your run defense. I don't have that problem. Rasing the USER tackling up 5 might of helped you in that department. My scores never look like because I play great defense. Sliders are best tested in franchise during the season anyway. The CPU plays terrible in play now and pre season.. Testing the sliders for one game isn't the way to go about it also. You need at least 3 to 5 games of testing to get a real feel for how the sliders are working.
How much clock do you use anyway? You had a total of 167 plays between you and them and I'm not even counting the sacks that probably happen during your game. The average total of plays during a game is around 120. Off course scores are going to look like that if your getting that ridiculous amount of plays in.. Thats 47 more plays then normal.. You need to lower your clock to something else so you can get around 115-125 per game between you and the CPU. Not 167.. Thats crazy..
BTW your recommendation of my sliders doesn't mean nothing. There were plenty of people who enjoyed my sliders this year and loved the competition from the CPU. Nobody is going to listen to your feedback from one game during play now because most people who test sliders know that you get the best results during your franchise games.. Looks like you were using a lot of deep exploits going 13-47 for 522 yards and 8 TDs. Haven't seen any stats like that since one of my friends found a nice exploit where the WR would run wide open about 50 percent of the time on deep passes audibling from a run to a pass in certain formations.. Play some more games during franchise mode during the season not pre season with a lower clock then the one your currently using then post some real feedback from a normal played game..Last edited by Jarodd21; 07-31-2011, 12:42 AM.Comment

Re: Jarodd21 Madden 11 Custom sliders.. Good competition from CPU..
Yeah I noticed that too. That's from everybody complaining about how fast the game look when all those videos were being put out on normal.. Most guys can't handle the game speed fast. You have to make quick decision on offense and defense like in real life.. Some guys need the game to be slowed down for them but I'll deal with it..Comment

Re: Jarodd21 Madden 11 Custom sliders.. Good competition from CPU..
I suggest using All-Madden w/ the 75/75/75 Formula.
Basically all Human Sliders must be at a Total of 75 for each category or it slips it down to All-Pro or lower.
ex.[1] Throw ACC 25 ( 25 x 3 = 75)
WR CAtch 25 > 75
Blocking 25
ex[2] Throw 50
Catch 15 > 75 (50+15+10=75)
Block 10
Basic Formula example
All-Pro Defaults [ All-Madden Defaults
Hu CPU [ Hu CPU
QBACC=50 50 [ 25 25
BLOCK=50>[150] 50>[150] [ 25>[75] 25 >[75]
WRCATCH=50 50 [ 25 25
In short All Pro = 150 Combined
All Madden = 75 Combined
Any ?s please ask
Justin,Originally posted by Justin NelsonSo if I wanted to increase my human QB by just 5 points and my interceptions by 5 points it just * everything up and it goes down to rookie? I am just a little confused cause I know on the demo I tried to move the sliders and the game went to a rookie difficulty. I also had a friend who got the season pass and he said it goes to a custom setting but it plays out like is a rookie difficulty.
QB BL WR
Your very close by adjusting +5 I assuming you have it 50, so 55/15/10 = 80
so you would now be under All-Pro at least in 11 that was the case.
As for your friend have him tell you or post it here and I will get him up to All-Madden
remember it must = or < 75 for each slider segment [ex. 25/25/25 = 75] to remain
at All Madden. If you want All-Pro it may be = or < 150 [ex. 40/40/70 = 150]
@Justin,Originally posted by JustinOk I understand it a little... But he wants to play on All-Pro as well but he likes to move his QB accuracy up to 55-60 because he feels this gives a more realistic feel to the game rather than just moving the whole difficulty down to pro. So as far as him being able to achieve that 55-60 slider what would he have to do to keep the difficulty at All-Pro?
Human Sliders:
60 <---- QB Accuracy at 60
40>150 <--- Line at 40 Lost 10 cause of +10 to Passing
50
50
50>150
50
50
50>150
50
50
50>150
50
CPU Sliders:
50
50>150
50
50
50>150
50
50
50>150
50
50
50>150
50
That will keep it at All-Pro. I great tester is Kick Meter Speed if done correctly it will be the same speed as default All-Pro mode of of course using All-Madden Sliders you can easily tell cause the
meter went so fast in 11.Comment
