HOSTED BY: ERIK KUSELIAS

What a wonderful bowl season we had, mixed with blowouts surprises and close wins the 2011 season was definitely one for the ages. Im Eric Kuselias and this is College Gameday Live.
A new national Champion was crowned and certain teams ended their seasons on high notes. We'll recap the BCS scores and a few other Bowl games as well as the season's final top 10 before we leave you until next August and another great season.
Lets start first with BCS National Championship.

SOUTH CAROLINA 31, NOTRE DAME 25

GAMECOCKS GET ER' DONE
GameCocks jumped out to a 28-0 halftime lead before holding off a historic Irish comeback to win the BCS Title 31-25 in the Superdome. Jacobs rushed for 147 yards and three touchdowns in the win.

TEXAS A&M 40, FLORIDA STATE 28

DEFENSE SAVES THE DAY
The Orange Bowl saw two interceptions return for scores by the Texas A&M Aggies as that sparked them to a 40-28 win over Florida State. Florida State got down as much as 34 to 10 before getting within 28-34 but a interception return with less than two minutes gave the Aggies some breathing room and the win.

BOISE STATE 35, PITTSBURGH 17

HUGHES GOES OUT ON TOP
Boise States quarterback Hughes finishes a fantastic season and career at Boise State with a huge Sugar Bowl win over Pitt. Hughes threw for 386 yards and four touchdowns making his season total 43 td's and 1 interception. Brewer grabbed 184 of those yards including a perfect deep bomb for 65 yards as Boise won 35-17 putting a stamp on their undefeated season.

OREGON 38, PENN STATE 21

DUCKS RUN WITH ROSES
Heisman winner Mike Jones led Oregon to a convincing 38-21 win over Penn State in the Rose Bowl. Jones threw 262 yards and three touchdowns as well as 70 yards on the ground with another score with his legs. The Ducks racked up 220 yards rushing and proved to have to much speed than Penn State could handle in the win.

ALABAMA 27, OKLAHOMA 25

"Bell"of a year
George Bell powered through three Sooner defenders before racing 77 yards and the go ahead score as Bama squeaked by OU in the Fiesta Bowl 27-25. Bama jumped out to a 20-6 lead heading into the fourth quarter but quarterback C. Butler and the Sooners stormed back to take a 25-20 lead with under three minutes to go in the game. On third and one Bama gave it to their playmaker and he did the rest.

Congrats to the South Carolina Gamecocks for their first ever national championship. Notre Dame had a magical run also that warrants praise. But I tell you what Hughes from Boise State oncethought of to be too small to be a division one quarter has put together one of the best career's a college quarterback can do, we wish him the best on his future.
