Never bought a soccer game before.

Since NCAA 12 has been a huge disappointment this year and after hearing about how great FIFA has been I am considering buying this years game. I have just now started to become interesting in soccer and starting to watch it more often. I was just wondering are there usually any big glitches or problems in past FIFA's ? How many teams/leagues/countries are in this game ? And which system is this game better on PS3 or Xbox 360 ? Here's hoping I find a new sports game to get involved in.

Go for it. I grew up despising the sport, and FIFA on Sega CD converted me to a Soccer Fan.

FIFA 11 is very fun. So many teams and so much to do. If you know little about the sport it is even more fun imo. I know that there were issues with the game, but I didn't investigate what they were. I haven't noticed anything that has broke the game for me.

*Using Manual Controls with this game is very satisfying. Don't do it immediately, because it is very difficult. But, try it after you get your feet wet.

Go for it, soccer is the best. Constant action, non-stop thinking and on-the-go tactics/strategy. There is no greater video game sporting experience.

No major glitches in this years game. Sure there occasionally are some minor things, but nothing that is truly game-breaking for me.

My only problem is that career mode is a bit paltry this year, but it should be completely fixed in '12.

From wikipedia, there are 31 leagues from 24 countries and 39 national teams as well. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FIFA_11#Leagues

I have a 360 so i would say that playing it on a 360 is better.

I agree. You have to adjust on the fly just as you would in real life.

That is so true. Soccer was made to be played on the couch, so to speak.

Thanks for the input everyone. Another thing I want to know is if there is like a world cup mode or something like that ?

Nope. They release a separate world cup game every four years.

are there any international tournaments in game at all? I am playing 10 right now cause it was cheap and I am waiting for 12 but I am not far enough to have found out for myself.

yes you can play a tournament with the international teams, and set it up to work exactly like the world cup.

To get my feet with a soccer game would you all recommend Fifa 11, Fifa 10, or Fifa 10 World Cup?

I am very unfamiliar with the sport in terms of strategy, teams, and players.

Grab Fifa World Cup 10. It can be had cheaper plus it won't be replaced by a newer version in the next 2 months like Fifa 11.
