Re: EA Sports Unveils 'Season Ticket' for Five Games
Wow, people are just dying to throw their money away aren't they.
Are people really so desperate to get the game 3 days early that they are willing to spend $85 for that game? Really?
Anyone who pays for this is essentially paying $25 for a 3-day rental of a game.
I guess it's true what they say about a fool and his money...Comment

Its technically like a $5 dollar rental, because you get to rent 5 games for 3 days (pretty standard cost to rent a video game from a store these days)Wow, people are just dying to throw their money away aren't they.

Re: EA Sports Unveils 'Season Ticket' for Five Games
I can imagine somebody getting excited because they can download their game 3 days before release, only to find their local Gamestop is already selling it and a ton of other people are already playing it anyway.
IMO, this is a crazy idea. I'd pay 25 bucks a year for a spectator mode. I'd pay 25 bucks a year for some real, tangible features in the game, for something new and revolutionary. This just seems like a cash grab from what I can see.AndyP > @_sportsjournalComment

Re: EA Sports Unveils 'Season Ticket' for Five Games
That only applies if you're interested in ALL EA Sports products.
Some people don't like golf. Many North Americans don't like football (edit: soccer). Many Americans don't like hockey.
So unless you like them all, it's $25 for 3 days.

Re: EA Sports Unveils 'Season Ticket' for Five Games
I think this is a good deal for this reason alone.
Let's say you planned on renting each one of these games before you decide to buy them or not.
So you have Fifa 12 Nhl 12 Madden 12 and Tiger Woods 12, each rental costs 7.99 for 5 days where I live, so that makes it somewhere around 34-37 dollars with tax to rent each one of those games. I was planning on buying Madden day one so that takes it down to somewhere around 26-27. That still makes the Season Ticket cheaper and you get discounts on DLC. If people live in an area that rents games for 5 bucks I can see why you wouldn't do this deal, but where I live it's 7.99 to rent a game so it's worth it to me.Comment

Re: EA Sports Unveils 'Season Ticket' for Five Games
I think its a good idea, get the games 3 days before they come out, and I play most of the games that are included any way. One thing is they coulda given you like 40% off downloadable content instead of 20%Comment

Re: EA Sports Unveils 'Season Ticket' for Five Games
I'm amazed that anyone would actually do this. Wow... So basically, for xbox players, you pay 50 (or 40) bucks per year to play online. Then for EA, you have to pay 60 bucks to buy a game, then you have to pay 25.00 just to get it early (by a mere 3 days) and you STILL have to pay to purchase the crap that they have available? What exactly am I paying for when I buy a game? All this is going to do is lead to EA sports games being more incomplete out of the box than they already are. This is exactly where exclusive deals are awful. Once the games get stripped down even more than they are right now in favor of purchasing items that should be included, I'm lost as a customer forever.Comment
