Yep, and some of those games have shipped with bugs just as large in scope as what we're dealing with now with NCAA 12.

Like others have said, I would like to see games released in a more polished state, but I've come to accept the fact that when I buy a sports game, it's going to need at least one, and likely two, patches before most of the bugs are worked out.

I'm glad that we have patches so that we aren't stuck with the bugs.

Almost always on a Tuesday, yes. There have been some that have been on a Thursday or Friday, but yeah, usually Tuesday is patch day. We have a few weeks to wait before this one is released, though.

I know this MAY not be the place to post it but since it's a hot topic, I'll share my experience.

Has anyone encountered a problem/bug/glitch where this happens:

Hot route a receiver to another route (Say, a curl route or a slant)
Smart route it to the depth of the first down line.
Hike the ball; WR gets pressed on the line.
WR does NOT run correct route, instead runs a go route.

Now, this has happened many times, especially on third-and-short situations. Most times I hot route a WR to the 1st down line, but the WR would get bumped. Anticipating a quick curl, I throw the ball hard. Instead, the WR runs a GO, so basically I throw it right to the CB (Since accuracy STILL doesn't affect ball placement/trajectory, but that's neither here nor there). It's frustrating somewhat, and I hope more have had this problem so it could get fixed.

And just because my reading comprehension is a bit off today, am I reading it right that if I decide to press on with my existing dynasty (already in year 2) the tendencies issue will slowly fade away as the original players fade away? So by year 5 or whatever, it won't be a problem going forward? Thought that's what Ben was saying, just want to be clear.

The only time I have a problem with the deep ball is when it involves Alshon Jeffery...

Just throw it up there, you ain't stoppin' it. The only team I know of that can stop him legitimately is Miami, because they have 6'3 Vaughn Telemaque at FS and 6'4 Ray Ray Armstrong at SS, and both can keep up with him.

                  Yeah basically.

So, if if you're in year 1, and you haven't advanced past whatever checkpoint it was, then EVERY player's tendency would be fixed.

BUT, if you're past that, then the only players to get fixed would be recruits that came in THAT year. So if you're in year 2, all the recruits you brought in, and everywhere else, would have their tendencies fixed. BUT everyone else would be the same (Robinson still balanced, etc.) If in year 3, rcruits from year 2 and 3 would get fixed.

So yeah, by year 5 it SHOULDNT be an issue.

Ironically, i was fine playing my dynasty before i knew when the patch was gonna drop. Now that i know that the players tendencies will fix in year one, well, now i kinda don't want to play my ongoing ones. LOL. dammit man.

I was kind of hoping they'd fix the issue with the hometown being wrong in RTG. Hopefully that's not all the fixes.

Ok, I'm guessing that the patch isn't released next week. I figure that'd be too soon for it to get certified and all that jazz. Perhaps two weeks from today, the 16th, but for some reason I doubt it. I'm looking at possibly August 23rd. If not then, it'd be that following Tuesday the 30th, and I think that's very possible because Ben said they think they'll get it out before the end of the month.

                          But here's for August 23rd!

Patches: Need approval from MS and Sony which can hold up the process for weeks. Because of this devs try to put as many BIG fixes into these as possible as quickly as possible. These issues are also more complicated than those dealing with core gameplay fixes (like the tendency and freezing issues).

Tuner Sets: Need NO approval from MS and Sony. Because of this devs can take their time on these, get the gameplay right without having to worry about their hard work getting delayed weeks by an approval process. This is why you will see the majority of gameplay fixes in tuner patches.

Trust me, EA is aware of the deep route issues, and other odd gameplay quirks. As I said, I am sure they will announce information on what the tuner fixes at a later date.
So.... if this is the case why the hell are we waiting on a patch to release before we get a tuner set? If issues such as safety awareness can be fixed via tuner, why doesn't EA just go ahead and release the tuner?

I dont see that as being a "deep ball issue" though.
I really think you should stop posting on this issue because you clearly have no idea what you are talking about.

Hopefully the game won't be broken as far as gameplay online after the patch. EA is good at doing that. After the patch all of a sudden defenders wont play the flats correctly is something I see happening. Madden 11 was a disgrace to defensive football.
