I played 12 mins a qtr for my first season and I would kind of hold off on the milestones until I played a rivalry team but I didnt max out every stat until the playoffs in my 2nd year

I kind of did the same, when it was a rivalry game or key game I would try a little harder. I played SF so I would go for more rebounds, I got very good at providing help defense so I would get a couple steals as well as blocks.

Honestly, this is one thing that should be adjusted for 2K12, 90% of 2K players shouldn't be able to max out their guy after 2 years and have him be a 99 overall. Too easy.

I agree it is too easy, you go from like 10th in the rotation to sixth man to starter in your first 15 games if you are a skilled player. You should start off as a 12th man who only plays because of foul trouble or its a blow out. You should have to prove you deserve time through practice and maybe even a stint in the D-League.

Getting points is too easy as well. I also think its stupid that regardless of difficulty you get graded the same as well as points. I think if you play on pro or easy you should be limited to a certain amount of points. Like if you get 20 and 10 on easy you shouldn't get the same amount of points as someone who gets 20 and 10 on HOF.

I think the player should start in the 60 range but make it harder to progress

they have to make it where only certain stats can be improved with skill points but like 3pt shot would slowly progress as you do drills that are made specifically for 3pt shooting.

The quickest things to get your overall up are as stated before offf/def awarness but honestly you dont need those to be up. What I did was played 6 min quaters for my first season on pro and got my driving skills up because i was a sf then worked on my permitter skills. That way I could just score at ease and then have your overall jump real quick the next year when you boost your awarness.

They really do need to fix the ratings for next years game. I think at best your player should start at 60 overall because the lowest rated player that I've seen on any team is 53 overall and we're supposed to believe that a guy at 45 overall can play in the NBA.

My opinion is to get rid of the drills you can do during the season and make them offseason drills only, sort of like a training camp.
I say it every year, no matter how many people laugh at me, "The Spurs/Texans/Astros will win the championship this year!"

I made a PG, played 12 minute quarters, and by the time my Warriors won the Finals, I was a 90 OVR. I agree, it is too easy. BUT, a major reason I've only played like 20 games in the next season is due to the made up players. That's a HUGE deterrent for playing beyond your first season for My Player and Association modes
