any truth to this? We all know ps3 users couldnt share files or update rosters via usb drives or anything, but some one posted on gamefaqs they emailed EA asking if nhl 12 will have it and they were apparently told that roster sharing is a feature that will not be implemented in the nhl series at this time. (dont have the exact quote as it was taken down due to cursing in the posts) but if EA cant give us half decent roster updates why not allow a vault like in mlb the show?

If this is true and there is no roster vault/EA Locker for NHL 12 on PS3, I see no reason to buy the game. I don't care how great the new features are...
EA flat out needs to re-implement this feature (Roster Vault/EA Locker) for the NHL series on PS3. There's no excuse or legitimate reason not to.Comment

I don't know for the PS3, but what that means for the XBOX is simple.
In NBA 2K11, you have a 2K Share options we're people put rosters, draft class, created teams, etc. You download it, and can use it in the game.
In NHL 11, there's no such thing. You have to make a series of manipulation with some software and a USB key to get the roster in the game.
On the PS3, I think that the manipulation of the files are not possible (I maybe wrong) and it's making a lot harder for anyone to get the rosters from a third-party in the game.
It would be so cool to have access to custom material from the community in NHL, but for some obscur reason, it's not allowed in NHL even if in NCAA 12, you have access to a lot of stuff.

I thought you could do roster sharing, you had to save a roster file first from the game, then overwrite it on your thumb drive, then replug it and recopy?Comment

You could in NHL 10, but last summer sony put out an update for anti-pirating and it encrypts saved files in a manner that crippled the ability to share a roster file via thumb drive for NHL. A dev (redshirt?) commented on this somewhere saying that roster sharing was never a feature they ever intentionally implemented, and it sounded like no one was aware that it was going to be crippled until post release.Comment

EA's rosters are never quasi-accurate until late october at the earliest. There was no way i could start a BAGM or OHL season with badly outdated rosters. That's why roster sharing is such an important feature.Comment

there was a user on here called mattg i believe and his NHL 10 rosters were awesome... then they kiboshed the ability to roster/file sharing and he hasn't been seen since. xbox guys had the ability last year, we ps3 guys were left suckingComment
