Lol just trying to be honest to the gamers in here... I know a lot of guys in here will buy Madden because they love football and have no other choice on the NFL front(I own NCAA 12 but still prefer pro game to college), I might even cave in myself with the right sliders and adjustments... But I feel the product should be amazing out of the box. It's a shame I have to make the game feel right in order to have a good gaming experience. Oh well... All pro and I'm making adjustments as much as possible... Hope I get there before the 30th lol

I think the demo is same old thing. Shiny new paint, same busted engine.
One thing though, please excuse me if this is a "dumb" question, but why is 35 the perfect threshhold speed number? If you want the greatest distance between speed players, wouldnt zero be the best number? Truthfully I dont even think the thing works, just my opinion though.

And also, when the hell are we gonna get pro bowl helmets? Not just the A or N for the confrences? Jeez PS@ had that in 2001!!

I think it's because if you put it on zero, a guy with 95 speed would be a LOT faster than a guy with 90 speed, rather than just getting enough separation from him to get deep on him.

One guy may think it's too slow, and bump the game speed up to Fast. Another guy may think it's too easy to pass and he may bump up the CPU pass sliders. And another guy may simply think the game play's perfect out of the box, and not even bother to touch sliders.

I think guys here expect EA and other sports titles to cater to sim players, when their number one goal is to make the best game that will bring the most sales.

I know that... Which is why I'm adjusting and trying new things to implement sim football... By the time I'm done it will be called SDot Football 12... I just feel out the box it's too arcadey with LB's that jump like Jordan and with O-Lineman looking as lazy as a Pothead. So far I'm adjusting every single game in increments and so far it's getting decent.

You're right, and that's what amazes me about how so many people love 2K5. I love it too but it's still surprising how it's so widely seen as great. I don't think that will happen with Madden any time soon as it comes with the rep it does.

After playing a few 2 player games today I really think this is the best Madden game I've ever played, maybe the best football game too. There are obviously issues with it that need addressing but I'm actually hoping it doesn't change too much from the demo because when you have two humans playing sim style it's actually really good and plays out realistically.

Don't know if any1 has done this yet, but when you are lining up for a FG, you can pause the game, go to replay, then go back and resume game and the camera switches to behind the FG post(like on tv). I don't know about you guys, but I wish this was the camera angle for FGs.

Ok... So I gave this demo a couple tries with sliders adjusted ad with game speed on very slow and threshold on 25. I started on pro and raised CPU to all 60 and downgraded me to all 65 and to be honest with you it felt great. I didn't feel cheated ad it was a close contest at 23-3 which doesn't sound close but I made two great plays on D when they were in the red zone. I could run a lil and pass a lil with more positive frequency. I saw little to no jumping LB's and psychic DB's. I felt pressure in the pocket but had enough time to make the right play. So for now... Things went from not buying to maybe giving it a try after all. I'm still upset I have to tinker with it so much but oh well.

Best demo of Madden I've played in a long time. Got some quirks, those clipping issues really need to be fixed, they are blatently bad. But overall, game has a nice feel. And the graphics aside from the zombie eyes, this game looks incredible. Looking forward to final product. 8 out of 10 for demo.

Are you nuts have you not played any of the previous maddens the demo is awful its the exact same game as last year. The blocking sucks theirs still morphing and the all around physics is pathetic. It may feel different but at the core its the same don't let them fool you. Personally I think EA sees the writing on the wall, their license is going to expire and their incompetent reign will soon come to an end this will be the first year I don't get madden. They really shouldn't of put out a demo because of the demo I'm not gonna get it. They could of fooled me one more time. Fortunately I have NBA 2k12 and MW3 coming soon I was thinking about getting Battlefield 3 but after the E3 presentation and more research, not to mention the fact that its made by EA I have decided against it.

Also they said they fixed gang tackling B.S. I have not seen one yet and I've played about 6 games. It seems like when ever a 2nd defender comes all he does is knock off the first tackler and maybe in EA's twisted mind they think thats gang tackling. Oh and if you dont believe me on the blocking try running a draw play then go to replay and watch your offensive line. Haven't you also noticed that receivers catch everything even if they get popped.

The demo had the opposite affect on me. Pushed me closer to Madden. I think it's because I know college is buggy and waiting for a patch.

No way it's close to the retail, it's an earlier build than E3 so I assume some of the linebackers-morphing-thru-the-QB and other glitches to be fixed

And you are correct. AJ confirmed that the long ball has been fixed, running QB's fixed and one other thing that I can't recall fixed.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this as a bug, but the skill level changes to rookie during the game.

Started off at All Pro, went into the menus during the game and it was on Rookie. This happened both times I played the demo. I made a big completion right before each time I checked difficulty, so I don't think it's cosmetic.
