Re: NHL 12 Screenshots - Wayne Gretzky, Ray Bourque and Chris Chelios
Um you do know that Chelios is from Chicago and played there for years before becoming a Redwing right? Or is it that he's in a Wings jersey and not a Blackhawks?Comment

1. He played in montreal prior to Chicago and Detroit where he set his Career high in points and won his first Stanley Cup
2. He played in Montreal for 7 seasons. Chicago for 9 seasons and Detroit for 10 (would have been 11 had it not been for the lockout) *the 9th Chi and 1st Det season were split*
3. When he was traded to Detroit he was disgusted, he said he would never play for the Red Wings, and he left the city as an owner of one of the most well known bars in Detroit and is a proud member of the Detroit community
4. He retired into the Red Wings Front office and will likely enter the hall of fame as a Red Wing. He also won 2 Stanley Cups with the Wings so I see no reason why it would be a problem that he is a Red Wing?Go Lions, Wings and Wolverines!Comment

He shouldn't even be on a "legends" team, sure he's a hall of famer but legend?Pittsburgh - 2009 City of Champions! YES WE DID!Comment

I know he has played for a few teams, but when I think of Chelios I think of the Chicago Blackhawks

Um, yes. I know. I'm saying that if Chelios is remembered as a legend he should be remembered for his days with the Hawks, not the Wings. Sure he won a couple Cups in Detroit but he wasn't the player he was with the Wings that he was with the Hawks.Comment

Definitely, I mean I can understand Bourque since he is the all time scoring leader for defensemen (although Coffey did have a higher PPG average), but if they're going with 2 "legend" defensemen, what about Orr or Leetch just to name a few?Pittsburgh - 2009 City of Champions! YES WE DID!Comment

I would have gone with Orr personally. I grew up watching Bourque, but Orr to me, is still the greatest player ever to lace em up.Comment

Bobby Orr....what a class act.
He's a pleasure to listen to when he gives an interview. For who he is/was, how humble and classy he is, is very refreshing. I can't really think of anyone better to represent the NHL.1969 NFL ChampionsComment

I don't really want to knock this Legends idea until I see how its fully implemented.
I also like the valid arguments/discussion of who should be in, and who shouldn't, and whatnot.
I guess, my feeling is, if your going to do a legends team- I definately think 1, 2, 3, heck a full shift of players from each team/franchise should be used. There are just too many great players over the years. So if your going to do something like this- do it big.
As I said though, I will wait to criticize until I see how it fully works.Comment

For me, a legend is one of the greatest players ever. Having a full team (20-ish players) is about right, if anything a little too large. Having 90 legends would be so watered down.University of Minnesota Golden Gopher Hockey
