Which player do you think fans unappreciate the most?

What I mean is like they only look at what they cant do not what they could. Or they look at what they could do but think thats all they can do.

The two guys im thinking about of the top of my head are:

Rajon Rondo and LeBron James.

When you hear fans talk about Rondo all you hear is he cant shoot, he is garbage, he is only good because of the players around him. My response to that is thats horse crap lol. Rondo is the reason why the Celtics do good now and days. Yeah he only average 10-13 Points but thats because he cant shoot well as of yet. Yeah the big three do help make him look good at times but he makes them still look semi-primed the way he sets them up. Once he develop a jumpshot(He has plenty of time since he is young) he will be THE best PG in the league. Right now ill give that title to CP3. Rose close second. Im a Celtics fan but that is not the reason why Im talking about Rondo being great lol. I was probably one of few who liked him coming out of Kentucky. And when he and Ray Allen were suppose to get traded to the Pistons a few years back, that wouldve broke my heart lol.

Now for LeBron, dont care about the decision, thats old news. Always was a fan. My issue about how guys look at LeBron now and days are five things 1)Traitor 2) No 4th Quarter 3)On youtube in EVERY basketball video there's a dummy saying "If you look closely LeBron Traveled" even when he is not in the video 4)LeBron has no rings so he cant be compared to Jordan and 5) That LeBron is a quitter. Let me approach the 4 things. Number 1) LeBron is not a traitor, he just needed to make a move so he can finally get a ring. Yeah they didnt get one this year but who really believed they was gonna win the first year together? not me. Number 2) To me its not that he cant score in the forth its just that the defense knows who the ball is going to in the 4th quarter so they lock him down. Apparently well lol. Number 3) So LeBron Travels a few times, big whoop. Alot of people travel that dont get caught. Derrick Fisher flops way more then LeBron travels but u dont see anyone saying "If you look closely Fisher flopped" Number 4) Of Course he cant be compared to Jordan. No one can. He was a unique player. James is a better all around player then Jordan but Jordan was a better scorer and in the game of basketball that is what it comes to. Also who care's if he has no rings, the guy is 26 he has time. And if he ends up with no rings, guess what, still gonna be a hall of famer. Finally Number 5) LeBron didnt quit against my Celtics. Everyone seem to think that. He was doing what he could and eventually got sick of the team effort so he stop trying extremely hard. The way the Cavs were playing was like if they wanted to get knocked out and if the team isnt gonna help you then why try? You cant beat a team like the Celtics single-handedly. Look at the Lakers when they beat the Celtics in game 7. Kobe couldnt do much but people like Derrick Fisher and Artest Stepped up.(Just talking about game 7 kobe fans lol) Derrick Fisher won the Lakers that game.

Thats my rant lol. So who do you guys think belong in the category im talking about??

Amare in regards to his defense and rebounding.

I feel like he doesn't get enough credit for how dominating he can be offensively.

This reminds me of a similar thread we had except it was about Dirk. Used to take all kinds of crap from people on here and now everybody loves him.

But yea, I don't know about Amar'e considering he's been listed among the top PFs in the game and everyone already knows and has known for a while how great Offensively he is. Just like everyone knows and has known how awful defensively he is.

Now Deron Williams, that dude is underappreciated especially now. Was usually mentioned either before or right after CP3 as the best PG in the league, now he might not even be Top 5 to some(some weird rumor about how he can't play Defense or some cockamamie crap like that) But then again, that usually happens when you end up on the Nets. People just forget you existed before....except with Jason Kidd but that's only because he got busted in Phoenix for slapping his wife around over some damn Mustard(if that rumor is true).

Preach brother preach. Deron Williams is the most complete PG in the NBA. I'm starting to think he's the best PG. People say no CP3 is he showed it in the Playoffs. He had a few good games against Derrick Fisher and all of a sudden he's back on top.

I also say Brandon Roy, I always considered dude a elite player.

a lot people thinks he's a one dimensional scoring pg, but that's not the case. He's a very underrated passer, play-maker and defender.

I'm with ProfessaPack on this one. Deron is massively under-appreciated...at least to the average NBA fan. He has the best pure crossover of any guard in the league, and he's arguably the most complete point guard I've seen play in a while...and he has size. That always helps.

Steve Nash is under-appreciated. Derrick Rose keeps leap-frogging him as the 3rd best point guard. I've never seen anyone effect a game so dramatically with as minimal point output as Steve Nash...aside from Rondo of course.

Also kind of hard to make the distinction of the topic. Are we talking about players who are unappreciated by the general public/casual fan or to the NBA fan?

Seems like more we're discussing which of the stars are marginalized because of a certain deficiency.

I was assuming the general public if that helps. Right now, the general public believes (AFAIS) that Derrick Rose is the best point guard in the league. IMO he's 4th, maybe 5th from a Point Guard perspective.

PPM, I think, and I may have understood the topic wrong, but I think that the thread was about how some guys are underappreciated because their FAULTS seem to garner more attention than their insane ability otherwise.

Amare isn't underrated, but if that's the premise of the thread, then he certainly fits.

Nick Collison: His confrontational defense earned him some notoriety this post season. The guy always plays hard and sets crushing screens.

Tony Allen: Plays harrassing defense against shooting guards and small forwards. Obviously he can't shoot or handle but he is extremely valuable.

Andre Miller: High IQ player who can run half court offenses to perfection. He can also post and shoot from mid range.
