    TV Sports Basketball

Has anyone ever played this game? I think it was released around 1990 or so, and I played it mostly in 1992-1993 on PC. As far as I can remember, the default rosters didn't have real names (probably due to rights), but it had something close. I think on Chicago you had a guy called Mike Jordache, and other players' names were made of the same formula.

I remember that after a couple of times playing it at my friend's house and getting familier with the default rosters and ratings, I went home and created a list for full rosters with all players and even ratings for each and every player. I then went to my friend's the next day and spent probably a couple of hours editing all the rosters...

It's obviously a young Michael Jordan (with hair) on the cover (I used to have a little poster of MJ with that pic)...but they changed his uniforms and mumber (and removed his arm band?) and thought no one would realize? What was going on there?

    ** EDIT **

    There it is:

The official(?) website for this game:

Anyway, the game had great graphics for back then and it was pretty unique to me. I was addicted at some point...

    Here's a little gameplay video

Yeah, it was my favorite basketball game back then. And what was nice, was that you could kind of shoot leaners, or maybe runners, which was very rare back then. It had a nice physical engine and the dunks were also nice.

Haha, yeah, I used to love it too. I used to have a buddy who had it and we played it in his house. And I kinda made friends with another (sort of) buddy - to come over to play it (I think I wasn't able to play it on my computer back then). I would go to his house, play it and then leave. We didn't have much in common, but at least I got a chance to play the game (yeah, it wasn't nice).

It wasn't until College Hoops 2K8, and NBA 2K9 that any basketball games completely overtook TV Sports Basketball in terms of how much fun I had playing them.

Being a broke college student, I couldn't afford a computer, so I bought the game and played it at my cousin's house. If I'd had that game and Earl Weaver Baseball at home, they might have invited me to leave school, and I probably would have got fired from my job too.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.
