Funny how EA has the NFL license but we still dont

have the ability to select different broadcast teams. If the EA has exclusivity over the NFL, then we should be able to select the "Network" (including broadcast team within reason say two guys for each network) that we watch/play the game on. So I should be able to play a game between the Bucs and Colts in Ray Jay and decide if I want to play/watch it on MNF, or CBS or Fox or Sunday Night football (NBC).
(IN the real world that would be a CBS game if it were not a MNF or SNF game because the visiting teams conference decides which network (CBS/FOX) its on. I work in sports tv and am on the sidelines often so I know that this is how it works. However it would be cool to be able to have that option included. It would mean your would hear 8 different commentators or NINE if you included all three guys in the MNF booth.
This is the kind of thing that would REALLY bring home the feeling of a true broadcast and if the NFL is exclusive to EA there is NO reason why this couldnt get done...EXCEPT FOR $$$ which of course is the biggest reason of all!!
Or now that I think of it they could rotate the broadcast for each edition of Madden. In otherwords for Madden 13 it could be on FOX and include FOx commentators and graphics and presentation. Then Madden14 would be on CBS. And on and on and so forth.

Let's wait for them to get to the point where we have two good commentators before we go for eight or nine.

    NBA: Bucks

It's not going to happen, the only real life broadcast they are allowed to use is the NFL Network. That is per the exclusivity agreement I would imagine. Why would the NFL allow them to promote a.station besides their own?!

Instead of 8 or 9 commentators, I'd rather have a decent halftime, post game, and draft show.

You could get Mike Mayock to do the draft thing, say a couple lines about "this is the top QB this year", "this is what X team needs", or "this is who had the best draft based on grade".

Aside from The Extra point, a weekly show wouldn't be that bad. I'd love for them to have a mini halftime/end of week show where they actually show highlights. "It's 14-7 here in Pittsburgh, let's show whats happening in the Patriots vs Jets game".

Why is it "funny" ? It's just a matter of development time, additional licensing and maybe disc space. The current state of commentary in Madden doesn't really make me wish 'well I wish I could switch to a different voice', it makes me wish it had a full dev cycle or 9 put into improving it.

I doubt the commentary is part of the exclusivity agreement.

Yeah whats intersting about what u just posted is that in Madden for
the Genesis (may have been the 2nd one ever) during a season
they would actually show the end of games in progress.
And that was back 20 yearz ago??

Since when does the exclusive license with the NFL mean they can use other networks such as CBS, Fox NBC ?

I think that's the NFL itself telling EA, not so much EA not going out and paying for licenses.

You can get wonderful NFL Network announcers like Bob Papa and Kermit the Frog Gumble.

point I was trying to make was having a agreement with the NFL doesnt mean they can use CBS, Fox and other networks.

                              This.

Plus having multiple networks would probably be hard seeing as how commentators would be advertising the network that they are on along side commentators from competing networks advertising the different network that they are on.

I can't see a network allowing it's presentation to be in the same game that has the network presentation of it's competitor.

The only way I could see multiple commentating teams in the game is if they gave us different versions of "EA Sports Presentation".

But anyways, again, let's just focus on getting one team right.
