Re: Madden NFL 12 Player Ratings - Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers
As an Eagles fan, I am enjoying these reveals just to see the ratings of all our FA pickups -
RB Ronnie Brown from the Dolphins (84)
S Jarrad Page from the Pats (79)
RT Ryan Harris from the Broncos (85)
WR JL Higgins from the Raiders (68, but probably won't make the final roster)
CB Nnamdi Asomugha from the Raiders (98)
QB Vince Young from the Titans (77)
DE Jason Babin from the Titans (90)
WR Steve Smith from the Giants (84)
DE C Wilson from the Redskins (63 as an OLB, but also probably won't make the team)
And now, from the Arizona Reveal, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (85)
- Though for some reason, G Evan Mathis, who was on the Bengals, isn't listed, so I don't know what he is rated.
Now I can't wait for the reveals of the Rams, Green Bay and the Saints to discover the ratings of DL Derek Landri, Cullen Jenkins and Anthony Hargrove
.

Adding Braylon Edwards and Donte Whitner to the team, they become the best at their position on the 49ers, both an 85.
Carlos Rogers is an 80. one point behind Spencer.
I was surprised to see Alex Smith a 75 as well.Comment

Taylor mays is ridiculously overrated. I mean, how wrong can his ratings be?
The mad top end speed is bang on, he's a freak, but does anyone else remember that his stiff hips greatly impact his lateral movement and agility, which are 90's here... And coupled with poor spacial awareness leads to him sucking in zone?
Why is he an 81 zone?
Did he prove he was good in zone last year? I can only smh St these ratings.
Is there a particular reason as to why the ratings are significantly increased from m11? What happened to the scaled back approach to ratings promised in m10? They've gone up each year, leading to the public belief that 70 and 80 are low ratings and not worth anything...
Am i the only one who's noticed this?Comment

Oh and is 84 meant to be low? Seems like a high injury rating for a guy who's only ever played 16 games in a season once in his career.
Staying on Frank Gore... It'll be interesting to see how much faster than Steven Jackson he is rated, because in reality he really isn't faster. Just looks it due to the cosiderable size difference. They both cover the same amount of ground at the same speed.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 12 Player Ratings - Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers
I'm with you. And I can explain, too. In recent years, they have had it set up so that players in their 50s are rare and the weak end of your roster. Well, now they are going from 53 player rosters to 70 player rosters. But instead of having 50 rated players the guys that barely make your team like last year and M10, they are bunching 70 players per team into the same ratings as the 53 were. In other words, they are dumb and bunching the ratings together. The lowest guys who wouldn't stand a chance at making the team are rated the same as guys who would have been on the team in M10. In other words, they were stretching 53 players per team among about 50 overall rating points in Madden 10. Now they are stretching 70 players among 50 overall points causing players to be rated closer together and everybody being rated higher than the last two years. They should have just had those preseason bodies been rated lower and kept them stretched out.... but that's EA for ya.Taylor mays is ridiculously overrated. I mean, how wrong can his ratings be?

Re: Madden NFL 12 Player Ratings - Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers
I noticed it. I had a feeling they changed the OVR formula just by looking at the ratings this year. I confirmed they changed the formula when I matched the new ratings for Mike Kafka in Madden 11 to what they have listed for Madden 12 and found that with all identical stats, he is 2 less OVR in Madden 11.Philly born and raised

Re: Madden NFL 12 Player Ratings - Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers
As a 49ers fan, im sad that we lost Franklin and Lawson. Clements is no biggie since Rogers is an 80. The starting OLB's are pathetic. I dont like Haralson and Smith is a rookie. UGH. Cant wait to see how Bowman does playing next to Willis. Whitner will be the starting SS at 85 and if Smith gets moved to FS, he should easily be rated higher than Goldson. Mays is too damn stiff in coverage and is on the trading block in real life. I say trade him and a second rounder to PHI for CB Asante Samuel.
Gore, Edwards, Crabtree and Davis are going to be damn good. OL is better than I was expecting but Rachal should be lower. He sucks. As for Alex, I think a 75 overall rating is good and where he should be. I rather have him over Kolb who quite honestly, is going to make A.J. Feeley seem like a steal in comparision. Guy is crap.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 12 Player Ratings - Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers
Smith 75, Gore 91, Edwards 85, Crabtree 81, Davis 91, Staley 88, Iupati 88, Goodwin (Saints), Snyder 79 and Davis 77.
Smith 92, Sopoaga (??? position change), McDonald 72, Haralson 78, Willis 98, Bowman 73, Smith 76, Spencer 81, Rogers 80, Whitner 85 and Goldson 79.
I'm going to move Reggie Smith to FS. He should jump at least two points to 80. LB core and DL are a definite weakness outside of Justin Smith and Willis. UGH. Amazingly, for the first time since the Garcia/Owens era, the offense is rated higher than the defense.Comment
