    Catcher spin throws on choppers

Can this be done away with? How many times have you had a fast guy bunt or hit a chopper and your catcher acts like he's a ballerina and spins before just letting the guy get on base. I'm sick of seeing fast guys beat out throws because my catcher has no sense of urgency.

I do realize he needs to turn to get momentum on his throw but like I said, sense of urgency.

Have you tried approaching the ball on the proper side so he does not have to spin around?

Tried that, get suctioned to the ball so I can't round it.

It gets a little ridiculous regarding the sense of urgency on some plays and the delays. I had a LF do a ~350 degree turn to throw out runner at 2B (stretching a single) and if he had just turned ~10 degrees, would have nailed him.

Yea those little things make me crazy. And there's no way around it because the CPU has already determined your path to the ball.

I completely hear that. Maybe I should have named this sense of urgency. Just tonight I had a situation against Royals. Guy on first, Brayan Pena hits one over Andruw Jones head. Totally cool. Then he proceeds to pick the ball up casually run into the fence, then take another step, and throw to the cut off man Jeter. Jeter casually turns and throws home just missing the runner.

I can't tell you how many times I've tried to get the guy at home and even though he slides in, the catcher still tries to apply the tag, while the guy who got the hit takes second because the catcher is so mindless he doesn't care to notice.

I've had ground balls that should have been simple outs but weren't because they just won't throw it the ball to first. That causes severe anger issues.

Another personal favorite, you need a crucial double play ball, you get one and your fielder spends all day trying to unload the ball as he stumbles, so long that you only get one.

Ok when have you ever seen the CPU try to turn a double play and stumble around like a goof ball and take all day?

Fair enough, do you have video of it. I want to see if it's the same thing I'm talking about.

                            I've never seen it.

You are correct there is nothing that restricts the CPU from branching to these throw animations. They are dependent upon the catch animations which are dependent on where the ball is hit and how the fielder attacks the ball. In other words, if the fielder (CPU or Human controlled) makes a fast moving, stumbling catch, he'll most likely branch into a stumbling throw. Alternatively, you could wait until the catch animation reaches a later branch point to use a set throw, but that will still cost you time.
