Anyone else having serious issues with NHL 11 loading?

I have had this game since it's release last year. I've only recently noticed now that my game has been super slow and sometimes it just sits on a loading screen and never loads. Any ideas. It has nothing to do with being online. I am just going in and out of menus. It does it anywhere it loads.

Let me just add the game is not technically frozen I can hit the PS button and it gives me the option to quit the game but every time I play the game if I go into any other menu it just loads and does nothing.

NHL 11 was the first game to show me my blu-ray drive was dying doing exactly what you described...especially in the opening NHL 11 loading screen with the rotating circle

Playing HUT today I tried to buy cards, but it just kept loading until I finally had to quit the game.

It worked two days ago. Don't know about after that (I just got enough pucks). Also the stats for EASHL aren't counting. The team really mailed it in it seems.

The queston is do all other games and blu-ray movies work okay? If so it could be a damaged disk or the game, if you're having problems across the board it may be the system.

Yeah so far I've had no problems with any other game or blu ray for that matter. I can't imagine there's something wrong with the disc I take immaculate care of my games. But the game starts up fine every time it's just the loading. I bought this PS3 in march of 2010 so it's not that old.

Yeap not sure what to tell you on that one unless your system is going south for whatever reason. The NHL series on PS3 does tend to be glitchy so you never know. I have an old fat PS3 80GB and was one of those people who couldn't play LA Noire and everyone told me my system was about to break.. that was over 6 months ago with no problems using the system 14+ hours a week..

I had the old fat 80gb too mine died though. I'm still waiting to get it fixed. One of these days now I'll bite the bullet. A local company claims they can fix it without erasing the hard drive. I installed a 500gb hard drive in it so I'd hate to lose it.
