Attention to Detail in NBA's Greatest Mode

This thread has the same purpose it had last year with The Jordan Challenge Mode. To help 2K's Art & Dev team make the teams and players of this mode as realistic as possible in their appearance, signature moves and play style. So that this mode can give users a deeper experience of Classic teams and players.

I will begin with some teams and players that I recently made post about:

-Allow us to have different uniform fittings for jerseys* and shorts (also length) separately and allow us to mix them up individually for players. Tight jerseys and shorter shorts should have less physics ingame.

More fitted jerseys example for Early 90's teams and backwards:

Check out the tighter shorts and tighter jersey fitting sitting on the shoulder even when players jumped:

Different mix of shorts and jerseys individually:

-Add the option for players to wear forearm bands on their elbows. Think about players like 90's MJ, Pippen, Penny Hardaway, Horace Grant (Magic)...Better of I would assign a slider to position all kinds of bands at any height of the arm

Elbow band (2 sizes> large and small):

    Large:

    Small:

Bicep band (Penny and Shaq wore them from time to time too):

-Improve the warmup suits. Since 2K10 they have looked like astronaut suits. Players who come back to the bench should put at least their jacket on again if they're on the bench for a long time (blowout scenario...)

-It would be nice to see Classic Teams have proper fitted warmup suits. It would also be nice to see short sleeved ones for teams like the Celtics, Lakers, Pistons, Hawks, Blazers, Rockets, Sixers, Bucks, 1986 Bulls, Spurs, Magic (short sleeves for home, long sleeves for away):

-Make sure MJ and Pip are given the same respect regarding their faces. In 2K11 Magic Johnson was darker than MJ ...

From the 2k12 video one can see that MJ is a tad darker and his face looks to be revamped. That is good. 2K should make sure to give Pippen the same amount of attention to detail as his face in 2K11 looked kind of generic if compared to Bill Cartwright or Stacey King.

-Some easy improvements for 2K12 Classic teams:

-Make the shot-clock like they were in the 80's and 90's, not big and cubed:

-Make the Boston Garden court and arena the right tone and brightness and give it an old jumbotron and no cheerleaders.

-The good old Chicago Stadium floor should be corrected.

1.The baselines & sidelines along the court and three point line should be white.

2.The mid-court line should be red and not overlap the center court logo.

The court color tones and arena lighting should be warmer. The player exits should be at the back of each sides backboards and not the sides like 2K11. Make the court graphics right: white baselines and 3pt line, red mid-court line, black circle around the center court logo and no lines overlapping the logo. Give it an old jumbotron.

    Modded court from 2K11:

P.S. 90's Benny the Bull should be fat also

-Make the backboard steel supports of the Hawks and Cavs red and orange respectively as they were back in the 80's and 90's :

Scottie Pippen should be given more star treatment this time around since he is one of the 15 legends. As far as his player model goes for the 96 Legend Scottie hopefully this year they give him his own shoe. Especially since 96 was the year of the air more uptempos

Also since Scottie will be on the 1992-93 Bulls squad he should have this look

On the 1995-96 Bulls team, Jordan's 11s should look like this with the correct color scheme for the black white and red playoff versions

Agree for Pippen the same should go for his Original Dream team year 1992:

        1989:

and 1991 with a higher Flat top:

As far as Magic Johnson goes I love that they included the old school striped socks in the game but it would be nice if you could have two different colored stripes for example..

And of course Magic needs his signature Converse

          As well as Larry Bird

Also they should include a medium length striped socks so it could be used for Larry Bird. As well as his shorts being very short and jersey fitting tighter.

I see that some cards have Pippen as 6'7" and some have him as 6'8". Or maybe he grew 1 inch from 1991 to 1992.

I think Magic was wearing blue knee pads for home/road games, instead of yellow or purple ones. Well, sometimes he would wear yellow ones, but anyway I don't think he wore purple ones (or maybe it was rare). So I hope 2K allowed us to have blue accessories for the 1987 Lakers.

Re: Attention to Detail in NBA's Greatest Mode

                Some early 90's:

The Nike Air Flight shoe was worn by many players from 1990-91 season to the 1993-94. The model remained pretty much the same through the years.

This shoe was worn by players like Pippen, BJ Armstrong, Chris Mullin, Tim Hardaway, Sarunas Marciulonis, Steve Kerr, Mark Price, Craig Ehlo, Larry Nance, Horace Grant (1993), Alonzo Mourning, AC Green, Abdul-Rauf, Motombo, Rodney Rogers, Kenny Smith, Robert Horry, Terry Porter, etc.

The Pump by Reebok was also worn by many players from 1989 up to the early 90's. Players like Dennis Rodman, Rod Higgins, Mario Elie, John Paxson, Horace Grant (1991 & 1992), James Edwards, Brad Daugherty, Bill Cartwright (1991), Sam Perkins, etc.

I remember one year 2k had the Chuck Taylors in the game as well

It would be great to include these now since they would be accurate for the time period.

Also Anfernee Penny Hardaway's body type should be slightly smaller than Jordan's. Here is a good example to illustarte this....

Next up Larry Johnson for the 1992-93 Hornets his body type should be huge very muscular

Hoping he has his signature hair, and I would be amazed if there was a way to give him the gold tooth

Also Michael Jordan for the 1989 Bulls should have a little bit of hair and not be entirely bald

This is a good mod on the PC showcasing what it could maybe look like......

and for the 85-86 Bulls there should not be an NBA logo on the jersey, and the shorts should be shorter and tighter than they were for them in 2K11

He's actually about 6'8" 1/2 in shoes. You reminded me of some player ingame with shoe heights being wrong in the Jordan Challenge in 2K11, that need to be corrected, plus others.

                      Spudd Webb: 5'7"
                      Danny Ainge: 6'5"
                      Byron Scott: 6'4"
                      Charles Oakley: 6'9"
                      John Starks: in between 6'3" & 6'4"
                      Anthony Mason: 6'8"
Stacey King: 6'10" (and he is a left handed player)
Ed Nealy: Closer to 6'8" than 6'7"
                      Sam Perkins: 6'10"
                      Magic: 6'8" 3/5> 6'9"
Bird: 6'10" (Same height as McHale, a legit 6'9")
                      Parish: 7'0"
                      Pippen: 6'8"
Daugherty: Closer to 7'1" than 7'0"
Larry Johnson: Closer to 6'6" than to 6'7"
Chris Mullin: Closer to 6'6" than to 6'7"
Scott Williams: Closer to 6'11" than to 6'10"
                      Hakeem Olajuwon: 6'11"
Kurt Rambis: Closer to 6'9" than 6'8"

On a side note honorable mentions to Doc Rivers and Gary Payton (Closer to 6'5" than to 6'4" )

Actually all the Lakers' accessories for home and away were blue or light blue, with the exception of Sam Perkins' yellow forearm band. At least the 90's Lakers one. In the 80's Magic did wear yellow knee pads in some seasons.

It would be awesome if the Jazz and Sonics had these jerseys as retros:

Also the 1996 Bulls and 1998 Bulls should have their respective "Sunday" jerseys:

                        1996> Pinstripe:

                        1998> All Black:

There should not be any NBA logo on Wilt Chamberlain's headband. It should not be there to be era accurate...

And speaking of the logo...Jerry West for the 1964-65 Lakers should have the old school flattopish haircut to differentiate him from his older player model.

also would be nice to get these particular socks for those Lakers as shown in this pic.....

Pic won't show up so here is the link

Which brings up a question I've been wondering about. After we unlock the 64-65 teams that are broadcast in black and white, will we have the option of playing in either color or black and white? It would be nice to play in color with these teams as well.

I hope they pay respect to Horace Grant's face in 2K12:

-He should have a mustache, no goggles and more hair in his 1989 version:

-1991 should be somewhat similar to his 1989 face but with clear goggles with no frames:

-1993 should be pretty much the same as last year, although it can be revamped, white framed goggles slight fade and clean shaven:

-His 1995 Orlando Magic Version should be blue goggles with a black rubber frame, thin mustache and and goatee and his head fully shaven.

Also to piggy back off what aloncho was saying about alternate jerseys. I think they should include alternate jerseys for the classic teams that actually wore them. Seeing as these are the teams themselves and not neccessarily from just any one particular game like the Jordan challenge was last year. So the two versions of the Bulls Sunday jerseys should be included for the 1995-96 and 1997-98 teams respectably.

                              1996> Pinstripe:

                              1998> All Black:

                              Blue
