Purchased game on July 12th, it's going on August 24th!!!
With many, $65 dollars is not a drop in the bucket, so I can see why considering the above.

They said before the end of August. I bet its the 31st.

And if not, would they then have a reason to be P'd?

As mentioned in today's radio show, there might be something that they are having issues being able to fix.

These weren't your normal year-in, year-out game bugs.
There's some serious coding/programming issue at heart here, so it's quite possible that the release date can be extended to September.

I understand why people are mad about the bugs but not why the patch hasn't been released yet. EA said before the end of August and people act like they have lied so yes if it's not out before September then I will understand the frustration.

They actually said, "Fixed......... issue." So, I'm like, what?

While I agree with you, this year was different in several respects:

First and foremost, the game is riddled with bugs, some very serious. Several of these bugs make the game unplayable by causing the game to completely freeze. We are unable to play with named rosters because of the tendencies issue and the likelyhood of the game freezing. Online dynasties are falling apart due to members being unable to logon, or worst yet, there are reports of dynasties being lost all together. However, the bigger issue is EAs handling of the situation.

It is clear they do not care about the product they release or the customers who keep them in business. The lack of competition tends to make for a mentality that one is better than he/ she/ it actually is. I have never seen such an arrogance as that which has been displayed by EA this year. It is almost sickening.

It will catch up to them eventually. It is only a matter of time, maybe even as soon as next year.

My advice to EA is to take as much time on the patch as they need to get it right and it be better be a damn good one...

I think they should be the "corporate" side of EA, because I fully believe that the Dev Team, the guys who put their blood, sweat and tears into this product care a great deal. I do believe that their hands are collectively tied on most of the development issues.

They are like us. You guys get that, right? The dudes who put this game together grew up playing this game as kids, just like us, and love college football to no end. Maybe not all of them, but I guarantee you that most of them do.

I'd specify who you mean by "they" bro, because I don't think the Dev Team deserves all of the blame - and if you weren't that in your post, then my apologies, but I know this applies to a lot of folks around here.

Along with what others are saying I too am extremely disappointed on the lack of a patch as of almost 2 months after game release regarding several game breaking bugs. Im speaking first and foremost about online dynasties ending up halted or destroyed after much time invested.

I have always been a strong supporter of this game and have felt that the dev team in the past were a lot of the time unfairly criticized. This year however it is hard to make excuses for them. To have bugs that literally halt your game and do not allow one to play the feature that one loves most is unbelievable to me that a fix has not been implemented to this point.

The lack of communication from the dev team to any of the sites that they have close contact with is a big problem I believe. If they would simply come out and at least acknowledge the fact that there are MAJOR bugs in this game I believe that would at least make some happier (myself included). However all we are left with is quite frankly an interview on 8/18 and the bugs are almost an after thought as to the severity while I personally felt the issue was for the most part dismissed. (this is simply my impression of the interview)

My plan next year is to buy this game from ebay/person to person some time after release. Im not going to buy it used as this will still send in my revenue. I know that this will not in any way put any dent in their sales however it will make me feel better and lessen the extent that I feel as a consumer that im being looked over as currently this is how I feel with this years release.

I think you make good points but I can't bring myself to judging the Dev Team without knowing what goes on behind the scenes, which I am sure would surprise us all. I can imagine these guys sitting back right before release day and saying, "Man, if we only had a little more time, it's not ready." The big wigs probably say, "Too bad, the deadline is here, the Development cycle is over." I really believe that. Not that I know any of them or have proof of this, but I think the team is just the scape goats because most of them have been around long enough to know that once the bugs are found, they are going to have a lot of pissed off customers who rake them over the coals.

Not to be an ***, but I'm actually not playing the game right now at all. In fact I haven't played one full game in 2 weeks or so. I'm waiting for the patch to finally start my dynasty. Luckily I have The Show and the NHL 12 demo to tide me over.
