I play 2011 on PS2 more than I do on my Xbox 360. I cant seem to let go, not because it's PS2, but because it just plays better.

I never played the newer versions on PS2.. How are they?

Dusted off Madden 06 for PS2 and NCAA 06 for the draft classes because the wait for M12 was annoying me; fell into absolute heaven playing those again.

I've been playing the Super Bowl in Madden 10 recently (like simmed to the Super Bowl)

The Redskins have won like 8 Superbowls now

03 Gamecube(my favorite) 05/07 PS2 and 08 Wii. What I love about 03 GC is how the weight of the player is represented,the tackling and the graphics

I haven't played a sports game on GC since Kobe Bryant's game lol. Do those older Madden's stand up well against the PS2 and Xbox versions?

I have many PS2 Madden's, but no PS2 working at the moment sadly. Also the original Xbox Madden games aren't compatible w/360 so I can't play those, so the only way I can play last gen Madden's is on Gamecube. Unless I dust off Madden 02 for PC.

Man, im really enjoying Madden 08 it has everything were looking for in next Gen. Like holdouts, and great scouting, restricted free agents realistic retirements, they even have player moral issues so they wont sign with a bad team if they just got off one and will retire early because they had enough of the NFL. I miss stuff like that for the next Gen but hopefully a Developer will dust one of their old Maddens off too!

I have madden 08 for gamecube and while I've not played it (just can't play with old rosters) it was a superior game to ANY next gen...with the exception of graphics. All the features the OP mentions plus the gameplay was more consistent. When I play next gen, game to game varies so much. What I mean is.....I'm the Steelers playing the Browns. Now in real life the Steelers are just plain better and that should reflect in the game play. Yes if I play sloppily as the Steelers or play the perfect game as the Browns (plus a few breaks) the Browns can win...but you should feel like the Steelers are the better team as you play. 08 had that...next gen doesn't. If I play this matchup in M10 or M11 i find all sorts of strange things...Colt McCoy may shred me for 450 yards one game and have a 25% completion percentage. I get no feel for which team is better...only that in any given game, one team will play much better than the other...it's almost as if it doesn't matter what teams are playing....it's a random outcome.

I have Madden NFL 05 from back when I was still very young. It was a good game, but at the time it came out, I'd just watch the CPU play in a tournament bracket. But a few years later, I decided to dust off the copy (in 2008) and have fun with it again. It was a great game, leading the Detroit Lions to the Super Bowl going 16-0. It took about a year or two to get to the off-season, but it was worth it. I loved the game. But now that I play the Next-Gen games, I don't feel like I enjoy playing. Last Madden I enjoyed was Madden 10, breaking for a run on play 1 with LT. I even dusted off my Madden 11 (Didn't play it since October) and I thought the game sucked! I was playing NCAA before that, and when you play a better graphic game (like NCAA 12), your eyes get shocked at how it looks like. I still say Madden 05 is the best for the PS2. And it always will be.

I still play Madden 05/06 on the PS2. Madden 05 gameplay with the Manifesto is amazing and 06 with slider tweaks plays a great game. The reason I rotate between the two is each game has certain advantages over the other.

For 05 I like the game speed/player speed (still believe this game represents that aspect the best), player faces were the best in 05. As well as the little things such as sideline reporter, pre-game information and I personally believe 05 had the best soundtrack.

06 I love the vision cone. In 05 it sometimes becomes too easy to pass the ball. The vision cone gives me a more realistic completion %. I have a love/hate going with the truck stick. I like the fact that it makes the gameplay more unpredictable in that you can break tackles but seeing someone like Darren Sproles obliterate Brian Urlacher is unrealistic. Soundtrack in 06 is very good.

Franchise sim stats in both games are good-nothing out of the ordinary. Progression in both games is good. I believe 07 Franchise had certain stats messed up such as backup running backs not getting enough carries. Which leads to too many starting backs having 2000+ yards a season.

I remember having both madden 05 and NCAA 05 and not playing a new madden till madden 07. had so much fun with em both. Now looking back I've had way more fun with ps2 maddens than ps3 ever. Even the later versions of madden like 08 and 11 on the ps2 are awesome. I'm contemplating getting 12 on ps2 since it's rumored to be the last madden on ps2.

I've played madden on the ps2, i think i played a version on the 360 and the ps3..played i think 08 with different levels of rings on ps3 wasn't really impressed with the ring levels needing to play online with madden..recently dusted off my copy of madden 07 since i've had this obsession with being a placekicker and went on to different site to see how many different cheats there were for the game. noticed one said when you take iq test don't answer the questions if you created running back but being i'm a placekicker i tried it and seen my overall shoot up to 95 and got drafted 3rd round 15th pick by the falcons..which i will probably write down all that for a different place on here..currently been playing madden 07 for ps2 but also have played 08,09 (09 on ps3 not impressed much by it) played madden 10 on ps3 and got same impression..not very impressed with it..nothing beats following rl former qb's on twitter as well..played madden 06 last month and asked rodney peete if he truly retired at the end of 06 season and did hear back from him..totally blown away
