Re: NCAA Football 12 Title Update #2 Details
I know where your coming from , Nice Post!Just take a moment. And go back to a time (PS1, PS2/XBOX) when we would get our sports games, whether that was Madden, NCAA, Triple Play, NHL, 2K football and basketball.....and we found plenty of bug's, glitches and imperfections.
What did we all do then? We kept playing, and getting the most out of the game. Came up with house rules if it was really annoying...we did whatever we had to to make sure we can overcome and enjoy the game.
Today we have patches.
People easily forget last gen, when we had no choice. We either accepted the imperfections (which every sports game enounter because...it is a video game and not real life) or a programming bug of some sort that comes up when you put enough hours into a game. We kept playing, and enjoying our franchises.
What the heck has happened here?
Yes the game has warts and bugs. But I am in year 3....with named rosters and having an amazing time. And I know there are hundreds of thousands of NCAA 12 players out there that are too.
OS has become a tiny island in a vast ocean that "so called" hard core sports gamers come and gather to wallow in their frustrations that they can't get a realistic game experience or this is broken or that is not working right and placebo effect this.....oh my goodness.
And it is on every sub forum here. Even for the so-called greatest sports games of our lives (The Show 2011, NBA 2K11).
Everyone has a right to express their opinions. But the core disfunction that has really plagued this great community is the intense, loud and immature posts that have spread like a disease and have infested and trolled what are meant to be informational threads as well as mature and intelligent discussions about our great sports games of today.
Think what you all want about EA, or 2K basketball or EA NHL or whatever.
We have never had so good with sports video games......ever. I don't care what the negative voices keep bitching about.
Everyone holds on to memories of yesteryear because yeah....there were some great games....back then! But now? They can't hold a candle to what we have.
My opinion.
The patch will get here. And I feel bad if your stuck in this misery of not being able to play this game. I just can't understand that line of thinking. The game is extremely playable. I don't get it.
Guess I am either too old to care or maybe I am blissfully ignorant.
It's a video game.....nothing more...nothing less. Life is short.
Play hard.

How am I to play through freezes?
My slider sets I have, all the tweaking I have done, gameplay, rosters, the whole nyne...all that stuff is spectacular. It has made for a great playing game.
However, back in the "good ole' days", I never had an issue with freezing that I am now. And there is no slider to adjust the freezing rate. It is frustrating to no end.
I've tried playing the same game 3 times 3 straight days (Nebraska @ Penn St.-I have yet to win @ Penn St. through 5 or 6 years, so for me it's a big rivalry.). Everytime, under 2 minutes to play, it freezes on me. You can't just play through that.
Just a video game? Yes. But for me, it is also a hobby that I enjoy and spend a lot of spare time.
Bike riding is a hobby too. Let's say I go for a 5 mile ride. 3 days in a row, the chain pops off everytime with 1 mile left to go and I can't fix it. Same principle.
My opinion.
Sorry for the rant.EXPERIENCE MAYHEM FOOTBALLComment

I'm curious to see if the incoming rookies in Madden have screwed up tendencies/player roles.Comment

You buy a new bike?
Seems to me that's a much more expensive hobby that people are ok putting a lot of money into....weird how analogies sometimes work against your point.
Either way, you're right about the freezing thing, i'm not discounting that, but if other things in my life break, i just replace them. You obviously can't replace NCAA with another working NCAA (because it doesn't exist for you) so just replace it with something else entirely. Move on and don't stress about things you can't control.Comment

Yeah since I decided for NCAA for my birthday, I'm gonna wait a little on Madden too. I guess it's best to wait 2-3 months on each game to give them time to fix the worst issues. You gotta have Hope! (My Minnesota Vikings franchise)
After an incredible 2012 season ends with a Super Bowl win, Hope Turner and her Vikings are trying to prove that their performance was more than just a one-shot.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 12 Title Update #2 Details
I don't think there was mention of one. Game trailers is now mentioning tons of bugs and glitches.
I wouldn't consider myself lacking intelligence. I knew this would be the case as simply changing the title of the game is not going to do anything to change the real issues taking place behind the scenes.
The big issue here is the mentality of EA Sports. As I have said before, lack of competition usually leads to the belief one is untouchable, better than they actually are. They sell these games in the condition they are because they can. We buy them because there is no other alternative available. 2K didn't step up and the company everyone believed would down the giant failed.
EA has given itself a huge head start on the competition by eliminating it. Unfortunately, they have pretty well secured their place on the current gen consoles. At this point, it is simply a revenue game, in other words, "How much do we HAVE to change to keep our customers buying?" In this scenario, the quality of the product takes a back seat to profit.
I think we are just starting to realize this, and EA is just beginning to "burn its bridges." The issues we are encountering now are becoming more and more repetitive and EA is starting to lose face with the consumer. How many of you still remember the pump fake glitch from last year? How many of you thought about that glitch when buying this year's game? I did. Eventually those thoughts start to compound and over a period of time people start to notice a pattern, eventually that pattern will lead to an awakening of sorts and consumers will quit buying the game.
The arrogance displayed by EA Sports this year only reinforces my belief of what is taking place with this company. How about the Sports Illustrated commercial that touts NCAA series as the number one sports game on the market. As opposed to what? How many football games with the license are there to choose from?
The only way we will be able to put a stop to this disturbing trend, is by hitting them where it hurts... their wallets.
Sincerely,
A long time customerLast edited by SECElit3; 08-26-2011, 11:41 AM.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 12 Title Update #2 Details
I will say this. Bear in mind I have hated Madden in the past. My initial time with Madden has been positive, and while for close to a decade I have preferred NCAA over Madden by a landslide, I could see myself playing Madden over NCAA this year.
Of course that opinion is subject to change after I spend more than 15 minutes with the game. Madden just seems more refined than NCAA on the field this year, if that makes sense.Comment
