Fair enough, I accept your take on the NFL. The NFL is a business and I guess the day the NCAA became more concerned about money, than enriching student athletes, the same could be said.
As for "NCAA never in its existence has it had a quality game made by an opposing company" that may be true. But with competition game developers are able to see what other companies do and adjust/replicate to new innovations. I imagine it only would of been a matter of time.
Look at the NBA 2k vs NBA live scenario. NBA 2K embarrassed Live to the point it got cancelled. However, because of that competition, I bet NBA Live/Elite comes back better than ever (if it gets released.)
Like you said, this has gotten off topic and we're back to the age old debate. I honestly don't even remember how this tangent originated, so I'm going to stop talking about it now.
