Here's the funny part: This whole Season Ticket scheme could end up costing EA money because many people who ordinarily would have bought it are reconsidering after trying it out and they're convincing others to do likewise.
It's on me. I shook his hand too hard. It was a hard ... kind of a slap-shake.

"What? You can't challenge a scoring play?''

I'm sure EA comes out ahead. It's all gravy because the game was already done and all they had to do was upload it to xbox live and psn. Almost 5,000 people on. That's at least an extra $125,000 in EA's pocket. Heck, they just paid one of their developer's salaries for the year with this promo. Also, I'm sure it will get busier tomorrow with the weekend starting and people not having class or work.

Once this game is downloaded to your hard disk via Season Ticket do you have to be connected to Xbox Live to play it? I ask because I'm moving my Xbox 360 to my other apartment on Sunday and I'd like to play Madden but I won't have any internet there.

I do not believe you have to be connected once you have d/l everything. I think the only thing about not being connected is that none of your stuff will carry over once you purchase the retail version.

On the ps3I have to be connected to get past the loading screen. If not it tells me that in order to access the early release I must be signed in.I would imagine it is the same for XBOX.

As for the low numbers, I have not seen that much marketing for Season Ticket. I think that is the main reason for the low numbers so far.

And people are mistaken if they think Madden is EA's golden egg; that title if reserved for FIFA and I suspect that the numbers will be much larger for that game

Seconded on the bold - I can't get in without the online connection either. It stops you at the title screen (also on PS3).

This another EA screwjob! Like an idiot I paid the $25 and even though I have a great internet connection the game has been downloading for almost 4 hours and is only 23% done. At this rate I might get to play 2-3 games before monday. By comparison Red Dead Redemption downloaded in roughly 40 mins on my connection. How many times does EA get to screw me over before I wise up??? GOD I pray they lose their exclusive rights someday.

Calm down dude. The problem is probably on your end. The game downloaded in ~25 minutes for me and my connection is probably not much better than yours. It could be high server traffic but I kinda doubt it. Nothing to start huffing and puffing over.

Not sure what season ticket has to do with exclusive licensing.

Are you on XBL or PSN? How fast is your connection? I downloaded the game in 30 minutes this morning. I have XBL with a 18MB connection.

Personally I'm glad I sprung for it, for nothing else I get to play the full version without dropping 60, and play other titles I normally wouldn't even have an interest at all in like FIFA. Finding out the Extra Point was dropped took this game from a prolly buy (Gameplay is decent to a casual football guy like me) to a no sale because a presentation element that I feel all sports games should have at this point was sadly outright dropped.

I wonder what their expectations were for this, I mean it's not like there were TV commercials and stuff about it when it was announced 25 days ago. I'm not sure I really saw much in the way of advertising after the announcement outside of Twitter (15k followers) and Facebook (ton of Likes, but only a couple hundred comments on any given news post).

it came out after ncaa and besides madden EA sports does not have 4 more games i want to try out...i refuse to even look at fifa for another 2 yrs.

it would have been wasted money, i may have been likely to give another company the money but not EA.

if they make it 5-7 dollars per game in the future i would have tried it
NOW PLAYING: NBA Live, madden 11,12, battlefield v, F1 2020 and injustice 2 and COD:MW

I bought the season ticket and it was worth every penny to me. For five bucks a piece i get to try madden, fifa, nhl, tiger, and ncaa all earl so i can make sure i want to invest 60 dollars into the game on release day. I havent played nhl or tiger woods in years and because of the ticket i could potentially buy those game this year too
