Re: NBA 2K12 Achievements Reveal Online Association, My Player Contracts, Much More
Thanks for the reply. When you say people usually aren't required to play a high number of games within a certain time frame, could you be more specific? One week to finish a game? Three days? I'm literally in the dark about this type of thing. For instance, must the schedule in an online association be followed specifically in your experience? As in, must each user generally be on the same number of games played? So is it possible to piss people off by not being able to get around to playing and thus holding up progress?People have created their own leagues, and the same will be done for Online Associations. Not every single one is successful so you have to look around and go on some websites. They make their own rules and usually they don't require a high high number of games to be played within a certain time frame, just as long as you're active.
Some people would play 82 game seasons, but it just depends on the group of guys. Beware of cheaters though, or cheesers.
I've never been a big online person, and I'm not sure online association is very appealing to me. It's pretty cool it seems so appealing to others though. I just wanted to see if I could clear up some of my own misconceptions about the process.Last edited by VDusen04; 08-27-2011, 09:49 AM.Comment

I know of one league that requires 20 games a week, which is way too many so I decided to not join that one. Other owners are more understanding and just ask for a couple games to be played each week cuz they know people have lives. And since some are busier than others, they don't expect everyone to have played the exact same amount of games. If you aren't active enough in their opinion, you may be booted from their league though. Thanks for the reply. What most league creators do is create a website and a chatroom on that website (completely anonymous as you could just use your PSN as your nametag).Comment

Make a donation to the NBA Cares global community outreach initiative in My Player mode.
Land a contract that pays at least $10M per season in My Player mode.
These 2 are Huge for me. Finally Contracts. Donating to NBA Cares is a good out-of-game feature.Comment

Holy cow. 20 games per week sounds nuts. Glad that's not the standard.I know of one league that requires 20 games a week, which is way too many so I decided to not join that one. I'm just the smallest bit surprised that a "Wilt 100" achievement didn't make the cut. It's probably for the best because chasing goals like that really messes with my VIP records. All of the sudden all my highs are held by the same person because I force-fed him to get an achievement. I think that happened with Kobe Bryant a few years ago. He had a big points achievement once and for the rest of the year he held my VIP records for points, points in a quarter, points in a half, etc.Last edited by VDusen04; 08-27-2011, 10:41 AM.Comment

Re: NBA 2K12 Achievements Reveal Online Association, My Player Contracts, Much More
This is something I do with friends as well, they havent specifically said anything about it yet but to know they are working on the online franchise portion of the game, it would almost need to be an essential thing to implement in a multi year franchise. We will see though but it's looking promising.Heres my question... In the online association , Can i have 2 user controlled teams and the rest be controlled by computers? Me and my boy play through all 82 games and dont wanna wait on others. Is this going to be possible? I guess my question is what's the minimum amount of players needed to start an online association?Comment

Would have been 2K10, that was the year they had a bunch of player specific achievements. Honestly I miss those and think it's kind of strange they got rid of them. It was a bunch of stuff like (rough guesses) get a 25 and 8 with Yao, 30 and 10 with Dwight, 48 with Durant, 50 with Melo, 83 with Kobe etc. etc. 20 and 12 with CP3. It's a good way to extend the value of the game besides online/multiplayer and Association/Jordan/Greatest mode.Comment

I would have implemented a special Detroit Pistons "Use 50 different starting lineup combinations during the regular season while maintaining a team chemistry rating below 23%" achievement.Comment
