Re: EA Sports' Season Ticket Hears Crickets on Debut Day (Kotaku)

I am fine waiting for the game an extra few days. Essentially renting it for $10 a day and then spending $60 on Tuesday is a waste of my money as I only play Madden and NCAA football.

I do like the Season Pass however, as it has already allowed those that bought it to find bugs and glitches early, saving those of us who wait the headache. Nice to see the depth chart freeze has already been fixed. Looks like the game has very few issues. If the Season Pass had been available for NCAA 12 I would have ran down to Gamestop and transferred my pre-order bucks to Skyrim.
Don't look back too long and don't look too far ahead.

I picked it up yesterday as i had some points left over from a few DLC's items i bought. I was really looking forward to Madden this year so i figured id get the season pass to try it out. Glad i did because come Tuesday i will NOT be picking up the game. There are just a few things that bug me about the game that have no business slipping past the dev team. It's either incompetency or just plain laziness. Hopefully they'll patch the problems up and i can buy a copy.

Not sure what you are talking about, the game is really very bug free after seeing how screwed up NCAA 12 was out of the box. Seems like the problem with the depth chart was a problem with the first roster update so they released a second one to correct it very fast. How can you complain about that.

This hit the nail on the head. Plus you have to go out and buy the retail game anyways...

Madden has not dissapointed me thus far so I will probably buy it come Tuesday, but if it were as buggy as NCAA 12 then I would be waiting a couple of months for the patches and then buying it used so that EA would not get my money. On the flip side if EA produces a good game that is worth paying $60 to me then I will reward EA with my money. I figure that I will get my money worth between Madden, NHL, Tiger Woods, and next years NCAA, since buying each of those used would save me approximately $10 each potentially saving me $40, so I would net gain a savings of approximately $20 and have less frustrations. If all the games are worth 1st day purchases and not used purchases than I am fine paying EA the extra money.
You wasted your money either way. Sports games are never "ready" at launch. This is common sense by now. Wanna pay $20 bucks for something get a gamefly account and just test games that way. I never buy sports games without renting them first, either blockbuster or gamefly. You're basically paying EA to let you be a tester at this point.
I'm all for APF going PES on EA (acronyms FTW!)

A lot of people on my friends list kept asking me how I got it so early? EA didn't do a good enough job advertising this at all!

***I am buying the game on Tuesday*** but...

EA gets what they deserve. I am not harping on you all that bought into season pass but the quality of EA titles don't deserve the me spending more $$ to get it early.

EA and Madden certainly hasn't earned the respect of the hardcore community and I believe you are seeing this in the sales figures.

I am encouraged by the reviews on this site I am seeing on M12 but after the insane oversights of bugs on NCAA12, they'll get my $39 and we'll see where things go in regards to Season Pass if they string together a few good years together.

For all of those who are saying because you aren't playing online, that it doesn't count towards sales numbers, I have to correct that.

They know exactly how many people downloaded it and even if you are playing offline, they can still tell you are playing b/c you are connected to XBL/PSN. They always talk about how no one plays online franchise for example. They collect data from offline games, like Ian did last year with his numbers about how many people were using Gameflow, even offline.

People are referring to kotaku's numbers which I think are only the people using online features, not EA provided information.

I bought it but Madden wasn't the primary reason. It added to the decision but the fact I get FIFA 3 days earlier and save 20% on their DLC added into it. I still think $25 is too much and think it should be been marked at the $15 mark.

Would be nice if they added bonus items as the year goes by.

How do I download the official roster update? I read that I need to be an Xbox Live Gold member. Is this true because if so, this is such crap because I dont play online. Only time im online via Xbox Live is for rosters, demos/trials, dlc and to purchase arcade games.

If true, this sucks as I just wasted $25 for nothing. UGH.
                              Yes it's true.

You need to be online for the initial check but once it's loaded you can disconnect. However you have to be get through the check everytime you turn it on.

Also I'm not sure this article is correct. It doesn't show up as a normal game. Those 5000 or so might be the people that got it early and unrelated to this. It doesn't show up on the gamercard or anything like that.

As a result of the two tin cans on a string that AT&T mockingly refers to as it's "high speed internet service", it literally took me all night to download M12. Nevertheless, I'm glad I signed up for the Season Ticket. I have some friends over to watch tonight's Texans game, and we've been having a blast. The cheap SOB's even paid for the pizza and beer for a change ( ), so as far as I'm concerned the ST has paid for itself.
