First half highlights:
This was the Steelers first game since losing the Superbowl against the Green Bay Packers last season.
Ben Roethlisberger was not the starting quarterback missing the game with an injury. Leftwich started the game at quarterback. The first offensive play of the game by the Ravens, Ray Rice ran for 76 yards and the touchdown. The Steelers scored their first points of the season on a field goal by Suisham. A couple of minutes later, they scored their first touchdown of the season on a fumble recovery for 42 yards by Farrior. At the half, the Steelers were leading the Ravens 10-7.
Second half highlights:
The Ravens came back from the locker room very hungry for this victory in front of their home crownd. They took the lead on a 2 yard run by Rice, his second touchdown of the day. 14-10 Ravens at that moment. After two Ravens field goal, Hines Ward caught a pass to cut down the lead to 3 points but it was too little too late for the Steelers in this one. They lose the opener against the divisional rival Ravens and heads up home to face the Seattle Seahawks who also lost their season opener.
