I like the "Leak Out" adjustment, don't get me wrong. Just want to make sure it's balanced someway.

What is the counter to it? "Leak Out" pretty much is not crashing the boards in an attempt to get fast break points. I hope I don't have to go into the coaching menu to assign NOT crashing the offensive glass to defend against it.

Good catch. I didn't really realize that the first couple times I read it.

Re: NBA 2K12 Developer Insight #4 - Playcall System
AH I get it now. It's actually very smart. Only one strategy may be employed at a time. So using leak out as an offensive one it still allows you to use a defensive strategy with it. Which means you will be able to lock the paint and still leak for a FB.No but shouldn't that be an option to call when you are on the defensive end? I'm confused about, if I have the ball already and it's NOT a fastbreak opportunity...meaning I'm just standing near half court...why would I tell my offensive players to leak out?
It would make ore sense to tell defensive guy NOT to crash the boards and to "Leak Out" for the fast break...understand what I mean?
And if the FB fails you can then just change strategies on the offense. Makes sense. As long as you can change the offensive strategy while being on D. xD“If you meet the Buddha in the lane, feed him the ball.”-Phil Jackson

Sound pretty logical to me. It's like real life and you see a team trying push the tempo. Call a timeout and adjust for it accordingly. But who knows, maybe the AI is programmed to do that on their own. What is the counter to it? "Leak Out" pretty much is not crashing the boards in an attempt to get fast break points. I hope I don't have to go into the coaching menu to assign NOT crashing the offensive glass to defend against it.

It's just something we'll have to wait and see on.Comment

Hopefully persistent offense doesnt become another means to abuse using Melo and lebron online...there's already enough users who simply shoot every shot with these guys.
Also I hope 2k implements consequences for the constant pressure defense strategy such as faster fatigue. This is another thing that I foresee the majority of users online employing.
Other than that, playcalling sounds awesome. However, I wished you could choose quick plays where u decide which players post up.Comment

In 2k11 you couldn't call a defensive play while on offense. And you could not call an offensive play while on defense. UNLESS that is changed for 2k12, we will have to see.AH I get it now. Re: NBA 2K12 Developer Insight #4 - Playcall System
amen. also i want to point out that 2k is doing this without competition at the moment. they could have took a year off like "some" companies are doing now, instead they took the other approach to destroy the competition once its comes backYou would think "some" companies would get that fans want what they see on tv even if they don't know how or why? You can not make a simulation and constantly cut corners on fundamentals . Hats of to 2K for bring hardcore basketball to causal fans instead of the other way around!Comment

Not really sure why 2k took away the Off the ball control from 2k10. Probably had to sacrifice it for another control feature.Hopefully persistent offense doesnt become another means to abuse using Melo and lebron online...there's already enough users who simply shoot every shot with these guys.

Re: NBA 2K12 Developer Insight #4 - Playcall System
Yep but these are strategies and not plays. We didnt have them in 2k11.
Also there is an offense strategy for crashing boards, so I guess the leak out is the counter to it.“If you meet the Buddha in the lane, feed him the ball.”-Phil Jackson

I like the concept of coaching WHILE playing. I'm just hope that if someone is killing me on the break that I don't have to *Pause the game,* make the necessary adjustments, *Unpause the game.* I would like to keep the natural flow of the game. That's why I didn't understand how "Leak Out" was an offensive adjustment rather than defensive being that I don't see a counter to it via the defensive menu screen.Comment
