Has Anyone Played This Game On Fast?
I've yet to see psychic DB's on fast and rarely see super LBs

Re: Has Anyone Played This Game On Fast?
I play on FAST with 0 Threshold. Anything less just feels too slow compared to the real game. The low threshold allows faster players to separate a little better too. I still see psychic DBs and all the same passing issues including super linebackers. -

Re: Has Anyone Played This Game On Fast?
In my opinion the speed threshold is the key. The game speed, in my opinion, just changes the way the players feel when controlled. The faster the setting the more they feel like they are gliding with little weight about them. I prefer the slow setting because I feel it gives the players the correct feel of weight. A speed back weighing 180lbs feels lighter then a power back who weighs 225lbs.
It is the speed threshold that allows for the players speed ratings to come into play. This is where I see a player with higher speed ratings out running slower players. This where I see my WR stretch the field when he has the speed advantage. I like my speed threshold set at zero. If I have a guy who runs a 4.34 (90's spd rating) matched up on a DB that runs a 4.45 (mid 80's spd rating) and I run a "go" then I should see some separation. It happens in real life. With the setting at zero I have yet to see a LB or slower DB run down my faster player unless something in front of him slows him up.
As far as psychic DB's and leaping LB's goes, I have found the level and coverage sliders can help a little in that area. I think it is more of a matter of how aggressive the game is tuned. Ever since NCAA 09 the game has been tuned to play more aggressively. In NCAA 09 the game play was wide open. People didn't;t like that because it was easy to exploit. So now we have DB's who run the route, LB's who can knock down any pass that the user does not use the left stick on. Then watch the next time you return a punt. When you move the return man the entire coverage team (kicking team) will move as your player does. This is all due to the aggressive nature of the games tuning. I think this could be prevented with the "Play Rec" slider Madden has. That way we could tune the game to play as aggressive as we want it to. The game speed has nothing to do with preventing psychic DB's and leaping LB's.Relax, it's just a video game!Comment

Re: Has Anyone Played This Game On Fast?
I COMPLETELY agree, anyone who plays this game on anything less then fast speed is NOT getting a true football simulationComment

Re: Has Anyone Played This Game On Fast?
Well let's be honest, nobody is getting a "true" football simulation period lol. Still the fast speed is much closer to real life speed. Plus it cuts down on your time to make reads and decisions which makes the game harder.Comment

Re: Has Anyone Played This Game On Fast?
True lol.
I play on normal after having played on slow all last year's game and when I first got 12. I now play on normal and the game just feels better. On slow speed I don't get that sense of one cut and go in the run game. Blocking takes too long to develop. In the passing game I take too many sacks because routes take too long to develop. I find myself 'staring' guys down for lack of a better term
On normal it just feels right. In the running game I feel as if I don't need to come to a full stop in order to set up my blocks. I think it and the blocker is there, one cut and go Terrell Davis style. In the passing game I make my pre snap read. 1-2 progressions and then I look to improvise. This works perfectly on normal. On slow it all takes a tad bit too much time and it slows down my reactions.
I think normal allows players to play instinctively and react to what happens rather than thinking about what's going to or what should happen. I haven't tried fast but I wonder if it's maybe a tad bit too fast as slow is a tad bit too slow...these are all personal opinions. Thanks for your time.Last edited by Sundown2600; 09-05-2011, 05:28 PM.Comment
