Imported draft class pictures.
So this year E.A. has decided to give us actuall pictures for the the generated players in the game except for real rookies and UDFA's who didn't get their picture taken. I think this is good for the game and all but E.A. Made a mistake by using their pictures for the NCAA draft class. These are real people who for allot of them we know what they look like, especially the high profile players and our favorite college teams. This for me is kinda killing the imported class coupled with the horrible draft logic by the computer when we use them. I mean besides the fact they don't like look them at all allot of the white players are heavier set. Who wants a fake picture for a real player and have their star QB (Andrew Luck for example) looking like a 300 pound lineman. Is this bothering anybody else? I'm just going to use maddens generated rookies from now on because of it.Last edited by Dwaresacksqb; 09-04-2011, 06:42 PM.BoOm!Tags: None -
Re: Imported draft class pictures.
Its not EA's fault, they have no choice. They cant take pictures of the college players...... theyd have to pay them._______________________________________________

Re: Imported draft class pictures.
Oh no no, I get that lol. You see there is a reason why E.A. Left a blank picture for the real players in the game who never got one taken.... There would be a whole bunch of angry people playing the game if they saw a real player with one of maddens pctures that weren't them. So because we are using NCAA imported draft classes which represent REAL people, the same logic should be applied. It is just killing me to look at some of these guys who do exist and have Joe blows picture for them. It has ruined the realisticness of using the draft class. Isn't that what we aim for as fans... Especially here at O.S.BoOm!Comment

Re: Imported draft class pictures.
Im sorry, if I'm losing some people. What I'm trying to say is, just give us blank pictures for all the players imported from NCCA 12. 50 percent of the reason I purchased NCCA was for the draft classes. I don't want this ruined for such a stupid mistake.
Am I seriously the only one having a issue with these fake pictures being used for real players? I would be shocked if soBoOm!Comment

Re: Imported draft class pictures.
I see what you're saying, but I still prefer the fake pictures to the black outline. Honestly, there are a lot of high profile players that I couldn't pick out of a lineup because I only ever see them wearing a helmet.Comment

Re: Imported draft class pictures.
It's making me actually get draft pics, instead of trading them for existing players. I absolutely LOVE what the did with the rookies profiles. I just traded up to get Nate potter. I LOVE THIS. I don't understand why you'd rather have a grey sillouhette instead of an actual face to look at. Having grey sillouhettes in the menus, and stat comparisons mid game is what really kills the game.Comment

Re: Imported draft class pictures.
If someone uses 4+ years of NCAA classes then you'll be drafting fake players anyway. I suppose EA could add in at some point the choice when importing a class whether or not you want generated photos or silhouettes.Comment

Re: Imported draft class pictures.
I remember when I think NBA Live had in game photos of the players for their pictures. I think that would be best and then let us create draft classes and customize faces. That would be my ideal game for this. Everyone with the same face, in game face for everyone. Does anyone else remember this? I don't think it's a huge deal with the photos, but having everyone with the same deal would be the best for me. Anyone else agree with this method? Or does everyone prefer real photos, rookie with silhouettes, and drafted players with real random photos?Comment

I agree 100%. Madden also use to do this... I forget what year though.I remember when I think NBA Live had in game photos of the players for their pictures. I think it's a really big deal for me because I'm a HUGE football fan and follow NCCAA allot. I get myself very familiar with these college athletes so when I see them represented in this fashion, it turns me off hardcore.
I will actually have 5-6 years of real players imported to madden also because I check the ESPNU 150 and create the college prospects that get recruited in NCAA 12.BoOm!Comment

Re: Imported draft class pictures.
idk, im not really bothered by it, to be honest i prefer the fake real pics over the old ones. seems a bit tedious to go as far as to say that the new pics are a gamebuster. but then again if this is what we are discussing rather than whether or not to buy next years game lol, then id say madden has taken a big positive step

Re: Imported draft class pictures.
Wow I honestly thought the ramdom generated pics were ONLY for the Madden random generated draft classes not the NCAA imported ones... completely and totaly lame. But hey on the bright side at leats you CAN import classes. Most of us can't even get it to work right. It says it imported it than I go to scout player and it's not the real guys... sux.Dallas CowboysSan Antonio SpursTexas RangersBaylor Bears Iowa Hawkeyes Texas LonghornsComment

Re: Imported draft class pictures.
So, what you're saying is that you would rather have a blank silhouettes than a " real fake picture"? I guess you were Ok with the cartoon pics of years past? What did those do for this "realisticness" you speak of?Oh no no, I get that lol. You see there is a reason why E.A. Left a blank picture for the real players in the game who never got one taken.... EA really can't win for losing. In my opinion, the pictures they're using this year looks a million times better than a cartoon picture or a blank silhouette. Honestly, I could really careless if Andrew Luck looks Hawaiian or not because it looks much, much better.Last edited by jeremym480; 09-05-2011, 01:00 AM.My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Re: Imported draft class pictures.
Um yup, pretty much. I would prefer the method NCAA uses instead of fake pictures for real people. Not sure why my opinion on this would generate any negativity. Andrew luck looking like a 300 pound "Hawaiian" instead of a "cartoon" depicting him how he is in the game seems less realistic to me. And aren't we playing a game still that looks like a cartoon anyway... So Maybe that's another reason why I would prefer the NCAA method over this. So, what you're saying is that you would rather have a blank silhouettes than a " real fake picture"?
