    WWE '12 Ratings Thread

The ratings for WWE '12 are starting to be revealed here:

Here's what's been revealed and how people have progressed or regressed from last year.

    Raw:
    John Cena: 96 (+1)
    The Rock: 96 (-1)
    CM Punk: 95 (+2)
    Triple H: 94 (-1)
    Big Show: 92 (+7)
    Rey Mysterio: 92 (+4)
    The Miz: 90 (+1)
    Alberto Del Rio: 89 (N/A)
    Dolph Ziggler: 87 (-1)
    John Morrison: 87 (+2)
    R-Truth: 86 (-)
    Jack Swagger: 85 (-4)
    Kofi Kingston: 85 (-2)
    Drew McIntyre: 84 (-2)
    Mason Ryan: 83 (N/A)
    Goldust: 82 (+2)
    Evan Bourse: 81 (-7)
    Michael McGillicutty: 79 (N/A)

    David Otunga: 74 (-8)

    Beth Phoenix: 75 (-9)
    Eve: 73 (-4)
    Kelly Kelly: 70 (-5)

    Smackdown:
    Undertaker: 97 (-1)
    Randy Orton: 95 (-)
    Kane: 90 (+3)
    Mark Henry: 90 (+13)
    Christian: 87 (+1)
    Sheamus: 87 (-5)
    Wade Barrett: 87 (-3)
    Cody Rhodes: 86 (+5)
    Sin Cara: 86 (N/A)
    Daniel Bryan: 85 (N/A)
    Ezekiel Jackson: 81 (-1)
    Ted DiBiase: 80 (-1)
    William Regal: 80 (-4)
    Justin Gabriel: 79 (-4)
    Heath Slater: 78 (N/A)
    Tyson Kidd: 78 (-4)
    Yoshi Tatsu: 75 (-7)

    Natalya: 73 (-5)
    Layla: 70 (-12)

    Legends:
    Edge: 95 (+1)
"Stone Cold" Steve Austin: 95 (-1)
    Brock Lesnar: 93 (N/A)
    Eddie Guerrero: 92 (N/A)
    Kevin Nash: 90 (N/A)
Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat: 90 (-2)
    Animal: 89 (N/A)
    Booker T: 89 (N/A)
    Hawk: 89 (N/A)
    Ax: 88 (N/A)
    Smash: 88 (N/A)
    Vader: 88 (N/A)
    Arn Anderson: 87 (N/A)
    Jerry Lawler: 82 (N/A)
    Vince McMahon: 79 (-4)

    Future Endeavored:
    Vladimir Kozlov: 80 (-2)
    Chavo Guerrero: 76 (-2)

    Michelle McCool (72) -10
    Maryse: 66 (-12)

What I find more interesting, and the reason I made this thread is that they finally added more individual attributes! I always say more is better and it's nice to see there's more ratings to set the wrestler's apart. This year we have:

    Strike Power
    Grapple Power
    Submission
    Strike Defense
    Grapple
    Speed
    Agility
    Adrenaline
    Recovery
    Toughness
    Charisma
    Tag Team

Last year we only had 7 attributes, so this is a big upgrade. I'm hoping for even more next year.

Cena at 86??? I like CM Punk more, but I cant hate on Cena..86 is very low....I'd leave it all the same prolly and just edit CM Punk to a 96 or 97. And Cena to a 97..either way they are equal imo with one better than other in certain areas. CM Punk def has to be a 99 for Charisma

                Re: WWE '12 Ratings Thread

Though to seriously adress the issue.

Much like the love for No Mercy, well them nostaligia glasses are a helluva thing.

Sorry to tell you this but WWE Austin wasn't very good in the ring. While he was mighty fine in WCW,particularly when tagged with Brian Pillman his WWE days didn't produce much. A few classics here and there. He might win a popularity contest but matches consisting of punch, kick, get beat on for 10 minutes, thesz press, stunner weren't exactly top notch. Taking the Sandman's gimmick (see video thread for huge irony),Whipwreck's finisher and yelling WHAT? doesn't deserve a 95. When it comes to in game ratings Austin should only be highly rated in recovery, toughness and charisma.

Much like Austin,The Rock would win a popularity contest but in ring,he was above average. If we were to judge this soley on in-ring skill as other sports games judge their talent Rocky would be about a 84-88. With the possibility of him being current day Rock who hasn't wrestled in years...well yah. There's not really an entertainment rating. High marks for grappling, toughness, adrenaline and charisma.

As Undertaker is presented as current day Undertaker he should be nowhere near a 97. Yes he had a fantastic match with Trips at WM but what about his last run of any length? He was slow, sloppy and looked awful. Thus being moved to the legend catagorey. Prime 'Taker deserves high ratings in everything but speed.

But guess "WHAT?" Punk gets high ratings in everything except tag team. Well he doesn't really deserve them in strike power but as there's no technical striking catagorey that'll have to do.

Good news is you can rate them whatever the heck you want. Unless they make us pay for it again,in which case you still can but have to shell out for it. K2 can be a 99 if you'd like. Though we'll probably have to rescale everything to make it presentable again.

But you have to understand the source, lol. Honestly, it's great that ratings are editable, so he can have his game, and we can have ours.

For me, since it's not a sport like basketball/2K and is instead a SCRIPTED SHOW, I'd much rather the ratings be sim in that we end up getting realistic match results (i.e. Cena and Orton winning the majority of their matches). I'd rather the rankings be accurate in my WWE Universe than to overrate my personal favorites while underrating guys I hate (Orton at a 0... smh). But, this is the beauty of any game, we all can play it however we want! i'm excited for this one!

And if we had to be concerned with selling merch and entertaining lil Jimmy in the game he'd be higher. We only have in ring stuff to deal with here. If you think Cena is better in the ring than Punk,Bryan,Christian,Barrett,Miz,Rey and ADR...

He's under Future Endeavored. They'll all get 0's.
He'll have his accurate 20 rating when Vader is beating him into retirement.

Oh and the last guy, there's ratings because it's a fighting game and not a wrestling game. But they're trying to make it look like a sports game too. If you had to work to actually putting on a good match/getting ratings instead of just being concerned with winning then maybe they could be done away with. Even then there could be in ring skill, botch rating, overness and so on.

That's the thing though. It's your opinion. Which is fine, and if you want to go and make the ratings as such when you get your copy of the game, no problem. It's when you come in here and force your opinions and in my view borderline troll your opinion about how X wrestler sucks and X wrestler is the best ever that gets people upset.

Personally, I like Ted Dibiase Jr. No one else likes Ted Jr. I like him more than I like, I dunno Wade Barrett for starters. But I'm not going to come in here and say Ted should be a 95 and Barrett should be a 20. I guess I'm asking for you to show just a bit of objectivity and realize when you look at the ratings they aren't meant to please JUST you.

Wrestling is ultimately subjective. There's no stats outside of wins and losses, which are predetermined. Which is why arguing about someone being over or underrated is quite silly IMO. The main problem with your original post is the thought that your 'fixes' are somehow better or closer to reality than the ratings released by THQ.

Cena's the top guy in the current roster (I know not in the eyes of the 'real fan', blah blah blah...but for all intents and purposes he is still 'the man' ahead of Punk, Orton, etc.), so of course his ratings will reflect that. Austin and Rock are 'legends', so of course their ratings will be high just like MJ was in 2K11. Maybe your post wasn't meant to be taken seriously, which is fine, but don't get offended when others scratch their heads at your thoughts.
