Re: Is WR, DB, Ball Interaction a priority for next year?

They do need to fix this, but the question is how can they with the current code and physics engine?

Their physics/animation engine seems like it was built to work with canned animations on a large scale that dealt with all football interactions. However the truth is that elements of hand fighting and leverage and spacing are what keeps both the line play and the DB/WR interaction back.

They would need to figure out a way to have both the DB and the WR be able to aggressively go after the ball. That was the main issue with rocket catching. The cpu DBs woul never go after the ball at its highest point, they would always wait for it and get jumped over.

Also they need to ad more diving and falling catches for WR so that they can hike up the chance for a pass to be dropped after contact. If you think about it, when you watch a game 70% of WR catches are made with almost zero attempt to run after the catch, especially on deep and intermediate routes over the middle. The reciever catches the ball while also bracing for the hit to protect himself.

Adding this would help make the game more realistic cause now you can raise the chances of a ball being jammed free after a rocket catch, and you can stop those unrealistic instances where a slant or a drag turns into a long TD becuase a DB went afte the ball and mised the tackle.
