The man should be taking effective communication courses, and most certainly needs to learn how to appreciate his customers.
Unfortunately, his primary purpose is to make a game that sells as many copies as possible. They sold a lot more this year than last. As far as EA suits are concerned, he is doing his job effectively. Until they start losing money or sales trend downward for a few years he is a "success" in their eyes, regardless of how frustrated with the game we become.

This actually doesn't hold true if they sell more games, but end up with 5 times as many customer complaints because of the quality of the finished product people expected when they purchased in record numbers this year.

The waiting on approval is taking too long. How do we know if MS or Sony rejected it and sent it back to EA?

How much longer do we have to wait for this patch to come out? Online dynasty is a mess, The game was released on the July 12th and it is now September 6th and this is unbelievable when you sit back and think about it.

It'll probably never be announced if that happened.

I would think it would be a large priority for xbox and ps3 with how well know these problems are by now and by how much people are complaining. However, that is just wishful thinking.

Honestly at this point i think for a lot of us EA is already too late. Basically there are so many amazing games about to hit, and with real Football starting i think EA missed a golden oppurtunity. If your a sports gamer you will probably be playing Madden and then NBA 2k12 when it hits. If you just an all around gamer like me, then you will be picking up Gears 3, Battlefield or COD MW3....whos gonna have time for NCAA. Most of us have already given up on NCAA at this point, and by the time we get our hands on these better products NCAA will be an afterthought. My buddy and i have a dynasty and we are waiting on the patch. But now that i have started seeing NBA 2k12 info and MW3 video I honestly dont care if i play another NCAA game the rest of the year. Sorry EA, you had your chance but you blew it.

Calling them now is pointless. They said last week that Sony/Microsoft had the patch for certification. It was then out of their hands. Some folks here just decided that that process would or should only take one week. Maybe it will come out later today, but having an expectation that is would, instead of just being hopeful, wasn't the logical read.
I agree with this post. Calling them now would be pointless.

As for the certification process. I have heard the term Internal Certification (the term used in the tweet from EA last week) used two ways. First in the MS/Sony processing of a patch the first road block is MS/Sony testing the patch for issues. This is where i have heard this term is at this stage. MS/Sony can reject the patch at this first block, if it passes then they get the patch ready for deployment. The tweet saying passed internal certification could be meaning it passed MS/Sony or it just passed EAs. If its the first, it would mean the patch could be quite soon.

The literal meaning of internal certification would mean EA's just submitted the patch after it passed their (EA's) internal certification to MS/Sony and it will be roughly three weeks from last week (two more weeks). Most patches i have heard take about three weeks.

I have to believe its the second one, but people often get loose with the use of computer terms and/or jargon so its hard to be 100% sure.

I doubt they care if you play it anymore because you already bought it. As far as the patch goes I agree that it has taken too long. But keep in mind that now it is completely on Sony and Microsoft. If any of you bought the new NASCAR game you know what I'm talking about. That game was IMPOSSIBLE to play online, and it took nearly 3 months to get the patch. The patch was rejected twice by Microsoft, and it was the quickest I ever traded a game in. I bought it in May when it released and traded it in the day I bought NCAA. Kind of ironic considering the circumstances, but I'm not going to sit here and tell you I'm done playing it, or I am selling it. Truth is I love online dynasties within the communities here, I love college football and I will continue playing it (post patch). I don't need to have the patch today, although I would welcome it with open arms, but I do think that receiving more information about its progress is not too much to ask. Until next time take care of yourself, and each other.

The thing is, I don't think they actually get 5 times as many customer complaints....

We may see a rise in complaints on these boards, or on forum posts (even the EA forums), but actual people calling in and complaining I bet is a small number. The hardcore players on this board are a small % of their total sales, and I'm guessing even a small number of us have actually called or emailed EA complaining, and very few casual fans (the higher % of sales) do as well.

I think the actual upset fans is very high, but the number of them that ACTUALLY complain in a way that costs EA money is very small.

It really doesn't matter unless gamers buy NCAA 13 at a lower rate. While i agree the game choices the rest of the year spike soon and many will have NCAA out of sight and out of mind. It really doesn't hit EA until less units are sold. Huffing and Puffing now about how EA blew it doesn't mean a thing in September, show them in July by not buying the game day 1.

Exactly. I'm sure they are working to make us happy (to an extent), but its not the end of the world to them if we are frustrated with the bugs or the patch time, they already sold a ton of copies this year... and they know based on previous years that no matter how upset we are this year, come July of next year the vast majority of us will still be buying the game.
