Re: Winnipeg Jets unveil jerseys
I like the jerseys. I'm still having a hell of a time trying to be more excited about the start of hockey season with the Jets than depressed that my Thrashers are gone. What's the Good Word?
To HELL with Georgia!
How 'bout them Dawgs?

Re: Winnipeg Jets unveil jerseys
Does Atlanta have an AHL team?
I know it's not the same, but being from Houston I've appreciated the fact that we have some sort of hockey to watch.
Plus the Aeros have solid history and have been pretty competitive in the past years.
Anyway, glad to have hockey back in Winnipeg. I'm all for expansion south, but it's necessary to have it up north.
Plus, Atlanta is a very fickle sports town. Not saying there aren't diehard fans in ATL, there's just so many other things to do there.Comment

Re: Winnipeg Jets unveil jerseys
They're okay.
I'm getting tired of the navy and baby blue jersey's that are springing up everywhere.
I loved that scheme when the Pens unveiled them, but since that time, we've see Florida and Columbus pull it off and now Winnipeg.
I was hoping for more red in there.Comment

Re: Winnipeg Jets unveil jerseys
I'm with ya. I don't like these at all. I wasn't the biggest fan of the new logo, but figured it could be salvaged with some solid jersey designs but these certainly aren't them. At least it's an improvement over all those god awful Thrashers designs over the years...Comment

Re: Winnipeg Jets unveil jerseys
No, we don't have an AHL team. I had at least hoped for that when the smoke cleared but we're without hockey completely. And when the product on the ice is good, people in Atlanta go to the games. When other franchises experience long stretches of futility, most of them have the same problem we did.
I remember when the all star game was held there, there were people interviewed on the street who weren't aware that such a thing was happening. Plus, what was the average attendance? How many people showed up to that rally when all this talk started, a couple hundred?
It's tough in poor hockey markets like that because there will always be a small amount of completely die hard fans that feel gutted when the team leaves, but the fact is the majority just aren't behind these things most of the time.Comment

I'm sure you'll get an AHL team pretty soon. Has to suck though if you really like hockey. Sorry about it man. I know all to well what it was like to lose an NFL franchise.Comment

Re: Winnipeg Jets unveil jerseys
At first I wonder if it was the new jerseys for the Conservative Party Hockey Team.
On a serious note, I like them, they are neat, colors are fine and they look good. Shouldn't be a tough sell in Canada."Ice hockey is a form of disorderly conduct in which the score is kept." - Doug LarsonComment

Re: Winnipeg Jets unveil jerseys
Up here in Minny, when the North Stars left...it was devastating.
I remember well, when Norm Greed [Green] had flowers thrown towards his press box for assuring us our Stars weren't going anywhere. And off they went to Dallas.Good ole Norm was public enemy #1. It was a very difficult time.
Thankfully, we have the Wild. But that sting of the loss of the North Stars still lingers to this day. I am very happy for Winnipeg...but I do certainly feel bad for Hotlanta.1969 NFL ChampionsComment

Re: Winnipeg Jets unveil jerseys
I wasnt a fan of the logo but this jersey looks awesome, really growing on me. I especially love the away jersey with the brighter blue stripes on the arms. Looks fantastic really.
I know its been mentioned before but when will EA update the game with these beautys?Comment

Re: Winnipeg Jets unveil jerseys
Disgusting. Why is every NHL team making a jersey with a combination of light and dark blue? The Panthers' 3rd, Columbus' 3rd, and now these. It's hideous. Also where is the red?will not change this until a buffalo team wins a championship.
