I had the same problem, and contacted ea. The problem was that I bought the game in England but, since i'm portuguese, i was trying to register the game in my portuguese account. So i just had to create an english account, and register the game through it. Fortunately, it let's me still play online with my portuguese account, after the game is registered, you just have to register the game, and use your current ea account, once the game asks you to create an ea account.
