Not saying it can't happen, but i can't remember too many (read any) patches dropping later in the day as opposed to the AM.

When I was hardcore into Gran Turismo 5 I remember a patch dropping at 7pm EST as that I believe was like 12 in Japan I think. I know its different but thats a very specific time I remember. I agree however its not looking good for today.

Look its not dropping this week, maybe next week but I am thinking the 20th is going to be the date. Here is why I think that:
1) We know it takes 2-3 weeks for a patch to get certified by MS/Sony.
2) We know EA tweeted on Aug 29th that there was a delay in the patch (stability issues) - With that said, here are some options; a) patch left EA (29th) which would mean roughly the 20th for release, b) they just tweeted that on the 29th to let us know, because they care
and the patch will be dropping around the 13th.
3) It obviously wasn't the "7th" per some customer service rep.
4) Holiday weekends back to back, Labor Day and 9/11.
5) Madden sales, NFL kicking off on the 11th. (Sure this would mean that they are 'conspiring', but that is not the way to look at it, look at it like this; EA board members meeting Question: How do we maximize Madden sales?, Answer: Release it just before the NFL kickoff, give Madden ample time to sell without any distractions (NCAA Patch/Bugs/Glitches, etc...). Also take note of how Madden Dev team has not mentioned any of the 'problems/glitches' with the game yet... as to not deter potential customers with a statement. (Standard practice, I know, but if they 'cared' or 'valued' their customers, they would release a statement, acknowledging without giving away what the bugs are) (before you try to say, its a 'business' that is what they have to do... stop... sure its a "good" business practice in terms of making more capital... but its not the moral, ethical, honest thing to do... and before you say its a 'business' again... 'ethics and morality don't apply'... stop... c'mon son, its the right thing to do. /semi-rant
6) Many people will purchase Madden right after the NFL kickoff, its been that way for a few years now. (goes back into #5)
Summary: 13th could possibly happen (would like that), but I am thinking the 20th, based on previous patches from other games timetables, etc...Last edited by chia51; 09-07-2011, 10:05 AM.Comment

i was sure in my mind that today would have been the day. although dropping on wed, i thought would be odd.
i'm hoping for tomorrow now, and if that is a let down, all hope is lost until next tuesday again.
not even sure why i give a phack anyhow, i'm playing my OD on a nightly basis, and besides getting one handed to me last night by inferior washington, things are progressing fine and dandy.
lots of hype for the patch. i'm sucked in and addicted to the fullest at this point.
i think the reason i want it so bad at this stage, is because we know it's coming, so we can finally just have it, and most importantly, it will provide me a full day of reading material on the boards, a great and favorite way to waste a whole day at work!"Not the victory but the action. here's the garbage their feeding me after I had an email confirmation that the patch was to be released today. If it wasn't for my buds loving this game I would have traded this junk in weeks ago, at this point I really don't care if little boys believe me or not, I just want my damn OD patched.
