    All Pro Default

    Oh my goodness.

I have nightmares about sliders and slider sets. When I think a set is perfect, it either changes or the next few games make me re-think it.

I'm playing a few test games on All Pro Default and I'm hoping some of you will as well.

Please come back and post general results. We don't have to post full box scores, just generalities as to how realistic we feel the game played based on the teams we used.

I'm starting by using the Bears and hosting the Ravens.

    Lost 26-20

It was 24-20 with 4 minutes left and the Ravens punting to me. CPU Raven punter pinned me on the 3yrd line with a great directional punt.

3 plays later I'm the victim of a safety at the hands of Ray Lewis. Saw the blitz but couldn't get rid of the ball.

    Forte 21 carries 125 yards
    Rice 16 for 95

Flacco 58% passing 219 yards on 17 for 29, no ints
    Cutler (me, i suck) 40% 139yards on 11 for 27, 3 ints ( i hate you Ed Reed)

    6 sacks for me
    6 sacks for the Ravens

I thought it was a great game and didn'r find myself looking to adjust sliders. I would like to adjust my QB play though.

What r your quarter length? Also are you using audibles and any other pre snap adjustments?

10 minutes, very slow speed, 40 threshold

Audibles, yes. I will switch the direction of the run when needed, adjust a route when needed. A few times per game I may switch from pass to run and vice versa.

Defensively, I usually only adjust the dline. If I suspect pass, I will almost always give the "edge rush" command. That gets me burned more often than not when the CPU runs up the gut.

1 game isn't enough of a test, i Know. But, for that 1 game, I never gave thought to adjusting anything

It's funny. Was stuck in slider hell as well and finally just decided to give All Pro default and shot and amazingly, I have had some very good games.

Does weird stuff happen? Yep. But after watching the full slate of NFL games yesterday, I am no longer concerned. There may be a few things i tweak but not to the extreme I was doing before.

My sliders? All Pro default, slow.

All pro default works for me.
only adjustments is with fatigue and threshhold at 65.
I play on slow and 8 minute quarters. 20 second run off. and I make adjustments on about 60% of the pays that I call. might even be higher.

I dont feel cheated on all pro default. The mistakes I make, are clearly dumb moves by me. like
not making oline adjustments when the defense blitz.
          not using enough audibles etc.

Only issue is with the ai defense and their super jumping ability.
one play stands out where my receiver had the defender clearly beat. I threw the ball and the defender jumped through the roof and had a one handed interception. it looked very unnatural and unrealistic.

I wanted to see if an inferior running team could run as well as I did with Forte and the Bears against the Ravens.

So, I used the Lions and controlled Best. At the half I had 39 yards on 11 carries. I was happy to be stifled.

I've tried a lot of different sliders, and I keep going back to all pro default. It just gives me the best games.

On all pro I average 6 sacks and 200 yards a game with the panthers. I had 575 yds in 3 games with Williams during my season. Everything feels good except that. Madden has been like this for 10 years there is no happy medium. I think they do this on purpose so you will stay interested. Or to be fair football is a weird game. You only control 1 of the 11 player maybe it's harder than we think to make a football. game. All I know this game will make you crazy. But football in real life will to you should have seen me yesterday during the Panthers game. We over analyze it I guess it's just a game.

                  This........

Enjoy game as is, and if a patch, we don't have to adjust anything. It plays a solid game. Only slider I would maybe change, CPU pass block, I had 8 sacks against bears, to their 2 sacks. I play as falcons, won 30-17. All other stats looked good. Had a big play on each side, turner 83 yards, forte had a 65 yard run. I'm taking same route with NCAA and all American.

                    Re: All Pro Default

IMO there are several game "types" you will get no matter where your sliders are. Sliders will help you get more normal stats most of the time. But last night I had a game where the two teams combined for over 900 yards. And it was by those offensive powerhouses the Lions and the Bucs!

here are some of the game "types" I've observed over the years. It's gotten to the point where I can tell after one quarter what "type" of game this will be.

                    1. The high offense game. Both teams go up and down the field all day no matter who they are.
                    2. the Great D game. neither team can consistently move the ball. Penalties and turnovers contribute to this.
                    3. One team dominates. Nuff said
                    4. the come back game. One team dominates early, the other later.
                    5. The Penalty/turnover fest. Nuff said.

Mind you I'm not saying that it's predetermined if you'd WIN OR LOSE. Just that the game type exists. My theory anyway.

You pretty much get the types of games we see every Sunday.

                      1 - Pack / Saints
2 - no real defensive game this week. Jags / Titan Iguess but really just bad offenses.
3 - Bills / Chiefs or Texans / Colts or Ravens / Steelers
                      4 - Jets / Cowboys
                      5 - Raiders / Broncos (mostly penalties)

You know, normally I just dismiss All-Pro default out of the box, but this actually plays really well.

The only thing I really needed to change to get some really good games was up the AI run block & Pass Block.

I was getting way too many human sacks with it at default and too many tackles for loss.

About the only other thing I would change is lower the fumble slider too because I wasn't seeing any fumbles.

Everyone should try this out. Just up AI blocking by 25 or so and lower fumbles and try the game.

I use the normal house rules of no Empty formations and no audibling from a run to a pass or vice versa and I had some really good games.

I've been getting good back and forth games on All Pro default. Changed CPU picks to 40 and speed threshold is 0. Not changing soon.

Default All Pro for me didn't give me good results. The CPU never seemed to run the ball effectively, and the QBs never threw the ball a realistic amount of times. I put the game on All Madden, but lowered cpu skill across the board to 25 like someone posted, and have been getting insanely good games.

I almost think that the sliders are messed up this year. For example, look at the penalty sliders. If you have Roughing the passer at 54, you see none, move it to 55 and you see 1 every other passing play. Offsides and Pass interference at 100, you still don't ever see these penalties. I adjusted sliders using the All-Madden formula of having human category totals of no more than 75. I had human passing at 25/0/50 and AI pass defense at 50/50/75 and I literally never get sacked. Then I play default All-Pro and the AI is getting a heavy pass rush. How can this be? It was actually easier to run on All-Madden than it is on All Pro......I don't get it.

All I can say is that I was shocked at how well default All-Pro played. It may be that the game was programmed for that level and they didn't really work on the other levels or how slider changes may interact with each-other.

I played 3 games on default All-Pro last night.....
                              Detroit(me) 15 @ Dallas 27
Texans 34 @ Detroit(me) 21 ****Late pick 6 by Houston made this score seem worse
                              Giants(me) 31 @ Bears 28

About the only thing I really saw wrong with the game was that I was getting too many sacks and the AI run game was a little meager.

So I am going to adjust the AI pass blocking slider or the Human pass rush slider and up the AI runblock slider and maybe move AI RB ability up a few clicks and move fumbles down for both.

You can also up the WR catch a few clicks if you aren't happy with the AI pass game.
