When do team rankings get updated?

When do the rankings of each team get updated? Online and offline. It's been two weeks and everything is still the same. What is the point of connecting to the internet to update stuff if it doesn't happen every Monday. What about player updates, does that ever happen, or is that just an NBA 2k11 thing?

They aren't real players in the game, they aren't going to base their ratings on how players perform that week in college because they aren't the same, they are just a representation of the team. That is why you have to download a roster file.

Does the game update the polls? I would like to see USF in the top 25 before they lose to some pathetic school in the coming weeks.

Online there are no player names, but offline all the players are accurate. Is that normal?

No they stay the same way they are at the beginning of the season, since there are no updates to players they can't increase ratings for teams (as they are based on personnel), if they updated polls then you would potentially have B- teams in the top 15. For instance if USF made the top 10 in real life and that was reflected in the game's polls, they would be ranked in the top 10 but would have the rating of a non-top 25 team. In a dynasty any team they upset to boost their ranking would be ranked lower than them but rated higher than them and would likely win. Basically the polls would be true to life but they would be completely off kilter early on because odds are your dynasty will not play out like the actual season.

You can download named rosters, but the names are reflected in online play.
